Why would any conservative support Donald Trump?

This question can be for anyone but I am specifically interested in what conservatives who support Trump think he will do if he were to be elected President.

His entire campaign seems to be based on his claim that he will build a wall at the border. Well and he does wear a cheap hat with the word's "Make America Great Again" embroidered on the front. Is that it? Is that what makes conservatives and evangelicals support him???

Trump is pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, supports eminent domain, supports government controlled health care, says he looks forward to working with Democrats in congress, etc. I see little reason to think he would be anything but liberal in office.

So I ask..... why would a conservative support Donald Trump?? :idunno:
Because he's not Hillary

Nor are the other candidates ... he's not a conservative either.

As if you are. I have news for you. You have never influenced a conservative to vote for a liberal. Some in the middle 20% who are actually liberal can be influenced, but their bias made it easy for you. Right now they are with Sanders.

 As compared to your *selective conservatism* ...

Compared to the adulterous, thrice married, pro-abort Trump, I am extremely conservative.

No *conservative* would claim that Trump is a conservative. As far as the rest of your jibberish, you are projecting. Those who are screaming in adoration and support of Trump are trying to influence others to vote for *a liberal*.

All the Republicans and their public relations pieces saying they will vote for Mrs Clinton shows their hand. The Republicans are in trouble because they are not far enough to the right. Despite the claims of purexcrement, the horn, barbie, rusha and others.

If this were so then Cruz would be winning and Trump would have been out a long time ago.

The Republicans are in trouble because they're spineless politicians.

Trump is a spine with legs and he's not a politician thus his popularity.

Cruz has done very well in primaries that are not open.

The Republicans are in trouble because they're spineless politicians.

That is what I said. They were supposed to stop Obama, not work with him.

Like it or not, there is such a thing as a fact. I know conservatives like to operate in a domain where all reality is subject to political spin, but that just makes you delusional.

Liberals don't like facts. They operate in a domain where they repeat lies to each other until they convince their selves of them.

And then they assume it as fact.

That's called being a peddler of deceit, and that's the Left's entire working- a big, fat LIE.
You're the one that's delusional, consistently denying what you know deep down is the truth- goes the same with all you ridiculous libs

I disagree with this.

While I'd very much rather see Cruz win, I'm not afraid of Trump. Is he a liberal? That depends on your definition of the term. I don't believe he's the leftist that Knight seems to believe him to be (based on what he said in the opening post). I think he actually wants to be president and actually does hold the positions he's currently claiming to hold. Him being a closeted liberal makes no sense given his opposition on the Democrat side. He could just as easily have squashed Hillary Clinton in the primary as he's squashed more than a dozen Republicans had he really been a leftist and he wouldn't have to be constantly explaining away past comments.

Further, looking ahead to the general election, if its between Trump and anyone else on the Democrat side, which would you rather have in office. The one who is definitely a socialist who hates the founding principles of this country or the one who might or might not be somewhat left of center?

That's an easy question for me to answer.

I wasn't implying that Trump is a closeted liberal. What he's saying during this campaign very well may be what he supports but when you compare him to the other GOP candidates I don't think you can say he's the most conservative. And what you outlined in your first post wasn't really about conservatism.
