Gee I was thinking the same thing, except about denialists like elohiym and yourself.

"Denialist?" What am I denying?

No amount of data will sway you.

What data have you presented? None. I've presented much on this thread that is being ignored just like you did.

You always have some creative dodge for whatever it is.

Provide an example. You can't.

Vaccines have to be bad, they can't have eradicated any disease, it's all a myth . . . blah blah blah.

You've never actually studied the subject, that's obvious.

The rest of us in not crazy land will continue vaccinating our children ...

You will continue to suffer the consequences.

... and unvaccinated people need to stay away from the rest of society.

See how crazy you are? You want to quarantine people who aren't infected because you are afraid your vaccines will not work for you.

This is satirical. Of course, we should maintain proper hygiene, not because some Old Testament law says so, but because it lessens the spread of disease, improves appearance, etc...

You're starting to get my point? Great!

Alate_One,

Can you make a rational argument why someone who refuses the tetanus vaccine should stay away from the rest of society? I say you cannot.

The tuberculosis vaccine is not on the U.S. vaccination schedule. Why did you receive it?

I was given the TB vaccine in the USN.

Have you received the rabies and smallpox vaccines?

I was born in 1968 and smallpox vaccination was routine until 1972 in the USA, so maybe. Rabies yes, although I am sans my 10 year booster.

Why? The flu kills more people than measles, right?

I rarely get colds, much less the flu, so for myself, I don't see much point in bothering with the flu vaccine.

Ah, military. Makes sense.

Anyway, we don't generally vaccinate against any of those diseases in the U.S. and people in the U.S. are still at risk for TB and rabies.

People rarely get measles but you probably think being proactive with the vaccine is a good thing, right? Why one but not the other?

That doesn't say I don't gave faith. Tell us, have you moved any mountains lately?

That doesn't say I don't gave faith.

It implies, at least, you don't have the measure of faith you were addressing.

Tell us, have you moved any mountains lately?

I told my wife earlier that you would respond exactly as you just did, by trying to tempt me as the devil tempted Christ. You think I have to move a mountain to prove I have the faith the size of a tiny mustard seed. Do I have to turn stones into bread to prove I am the son of God, too? :chuckle:

User Name,

Consider carefully this passage regarding the curse of disobedience from Deuteronomy 28:15 et seq:

20 "The LORD will send upon you curses, confusion, and rebuke, in all you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken Me.

21 "The LORD will make the pestilence cling to you until He has consumed you from the land where you are entering to possess it.

22 "The LORD will smite you with consumption and with fever and with inflammation and with fiery heat and with the sword and with blight and with mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish.

Questions:

1. If you become infected with a deadly virus, is it possible that God wants you infected?

2. If yes, should you vaccinate to prevent God's will in that case?

3. Is it possible that God has nothing to do with some infections that people get today?

I really don't have time to watch a nearly 2-hour video. Post a clip of 10 minutes or less and I'll make time to watch that.

Why not just watch the first ten minutes instead of make me find a clip under ten minutes? :idunno:

It's an obvious hatchet job, and poorly done. Harriet Hall's article should be criticized and the flaws in her argument pointed out, whoever she is (couldn't find a bio). Regardless, Dr. Obukhanych's presentation is exclusively about the measles virus.

You thought I had to have that much faith to be a Christian. Do you or don't you have o have that much faith? If you don't turn a few stones into bread from time to time, how do you know you have enough faith to be saved?

By the way, I wasn't tempting you, I asked you a simple question based on Jesus's teachings.

Subjective speculations are the only answers to these questions. One could answer both ways and cite Bible passages both ways.

Proves my point. They are obviously unnecessary vaccines, yet a person can still contract rabies and tuberculosis in the U.S. But who cares, right?

I noticed you dodged my question in response to you avoiding the flu vaccine, so I'll ask it again: People rarely get measles but you probably think being proactive with the vaccine is a good thing, right? Why use one (measles vaccine) but not the other (flu vaccine)?

People rarely get measles anymore thanks in large part to the measles vaccine.

Why use one (measles vaccine) but not the other (flu vaccine)?

I have made the personal choice to not bother with flu vaccinations because I'm a relatively healthy middle-aged man so the flu isn't a life-threatening illness for me. I can't remember the last time I got the flu anyhow. If I were elderly or compromised in some way, I might think differently about it.
