You know, Use Name and others like him that just refuse to admit even the smallest mistake when, in fact, their entire premise is beyond foolish is exactly why I just don't visit TOL very much these days.

User Name,

Can we consider another vaccine, tetanus? It's impossible for the tetanus vaccine to wipe out tetanus simply because the vaccine is not against the tetanus bacteria. Will you concede that point? I'm trying to figure out if you are capable of conceding an irrefutable point.

The last case of smallpox from natural transmission was in Somalia in 1977. After eradication, the WHO advised that all countries stop giving routine smallpox vaccinations. Routine smallpox vaccinations stopped in the U.S. and in many other countries in 1972, and in all other member countries of WHO by 1986.

That is all dealt with in the link I provided and post #7. Did you read any of it? Obviously not, or you wouldn't be wasting everyone's time with more mythology.

I watched your pop-pseudo-science videos. Did you watch the presentation by the immunologist that I posted? That would really help you understand where you are going wrong and why are you easily being misled by drug profiteers selling vaccine-woo.

Here it is again:

Dr Tetyana Obukhanych - Do vaccines give you immunity?

People, please understand that when you get vaccinated against tetanus or diphtheria you are not getting immunity against the bacteria. That's just not how those toxoid vaccines work. Any claims the vaccines can wipe out tetanus or diphtheria are necessarily false. Don't even bring up herd immunity when you speak of those vaccines. That would be ridiculous.

User Name,

In the OP you are claiming that 10 vaccines saved the world. Since you claim to be a Christian, I want to remind you that no vaccines have saved the world. There is no savior other than God and his law forbids vaccination.

1 Timothy 4:16 and James 5:20 indicate that there are things we can do to save ourselves as well as each other. Also, I'm not aware that "God and his law forbids vaccination." It doesn't say that in my Bible.

User Name,

In the OP, the video you posted claims the rabies vaccine as one of those vaccines that allegedly saved the world. Do you concede that you can still get rabies? Do you concede that the rabies vaccine is not part of the vaccine schedule? Do you concede that rabies vaccine is an unavoidably unsafe product?

§ 402A. Special Liability of Seller of Product for Physical Harm to User or Consumer

Comment k:

Unavoidably unsafe products. There are some products which, in the present state of human knowledge, are quite incapable of being made safe for their intended and ordinary use. These are especially common in the field of drugs. An outstanding example is the vaccine for the Pasteur treatment of rabies, which not uncommonly leads to very serious and damaging consequences when it is injected. Since the disease itself invariably leads to a dreadful death, both the marketing and use of the vaccine are fully justified, notwithstanding the unavoidable high degree of risk which they involve. Such a product, properly prepared, and accompanied by proper directions and warning, is not defective, nor is it unreasonably dangerous. The same is true of many other drugs, vaccines, and the like, many of which for this very reason cannot legally be sold except to physicians, or under the prescription of a physician. It is also true in particular of many new or experimental drugs as to which, because of lack of time and opportunity for sufficient medical experience, there can be no assurance of safety, or perhaps even of purity of ingredients, but such experience as there is justifies the marketing and use of the drug notwithstanding a medically recognizable risk. The seller of such products, again with the qualification that they are properly prepared and marketed, and proper warning is given, where the situation calls for it, is not to be held to strict liability for unfortunate consequences attending their use, merely because he has undertaken to supply the public with an apparently useful and desirable product, attended with a known but apparently reasonable risk.

I can prove vaccines are avoidably unsafe, but you at least have to concede they are unavoidably unsafe. When doctors claim that vaccines are safe, they are misleading you. What they should say is that vaccines have risks of side-effects, some serious, but it's believed the benefit outweighs the risk; then they should prove the benefit outweighs the risk, which they never can without misleading people.

I think there was a certain amount of hyperbole in the title, but yes, vaccination has saved a lot of people from contracting a lot of diseases, so...

Those verses having nothing to do with vaccination.

Also, I'm not aware that "God and his law forbids vaccination." It doesn't say that in my Bible.

Seriously?

God had laws for field sanitation, sterilization, quarantine and commanded not touching items infected by sick people, etc. You think injecting a live but attenuated measles virus, something God would have clearly called unclean in the Old Testament, would not have been a sin? Please. Read you Bible again.

You have no proof. It's just smoke and mirrors.

Rabies will not be wiped out by the rabies vaccine. You can still get rabies. It's an unavoidably unsafe vaccine. Do you believe rabies vaccination is necessary? Yes or no.

User Name,

We know for a fact that vaccines are unavoidably unsafe products. See my previous post on that.

I told you I could prove vaccines are avoidably unsafe products. Here is the proof that the MMR vaccine is an avoidably unsafe product:

"The design and reporting of safety outcomes in MMR vaccine studies, both pre- and post-marketing, are largely inadequate."

An unavoidably unsafe product not adequately tested for safety is avoidably unsafe. Do you agree? Yes or no? I hope you agree because it's common sense: the MMR vaccine is avoidably unsafe.

I've read them both. The first article contains several false and misleading statements, some already dealt with on this thread, directly and indirectly. The second article is really pathetic because supposed Torah scholars claim vaccines are kosher because you are injecting instead of ingesting unclean things. Lot's of crazy in that article. Hey, if you want to trust the opinion of people who can't discern the Messiah in the pages of the book you think they are interpreting properly this time, that's your call. Not all Jews agree with them; it's still a controversy. Also, how do you apply the argument in the first article to vaccines like rabbies, diptheria or tetanus? Herd immunity is irrelevant to those vaccines and others.

User Name,

We're not discussing high-tech science. There is nothing that Jenner did with smallpox that couldn't have been done in Moses' day, yet God did not command primitive vaccination. He commanded field sanitation, sterilization, quarantine and gave laws that would have precluded vaccination.
