I thought He was full of Grace and Truth because of Who He IS...

By the foreknowledge of God, that is true.

His humanity was in perfect union with His Father
Yes... By obedience...

Obedience was the evidence, not the cause.

as being without distinction
The humanity of Jesus is VERY DISTINCT from the Divinity of God...

Nope! That is where you miss it by not understanding "being made in His image" actually means. Adam was purposed to become as Jesus was. Adam had to be "PROVEN".

Quote:
and by which He was victorious!

What He said was: "The world has nothing in Me..."

Irrelevant.

Quote:
What He accomplished on the cross was
(to) prove that Adam could have accomplished the same thing
had he submitted his life to the God at the outset.

Yes. __ and when He said it was finished, it was finished.

,

??

that would be utterly egotistical on Christ's part...

And Christ is no egotist...

God did what Man could not..
.

A man did it! How He did it is what studying His word is all about. So study it to show yourself "APPROVED".

basically that is what francis said
and
he would accept your words

why are you being so difficult?

That is VERY good news...

I read him as saying that ALL atheists are REDEEMED...

My bad...

Can you show me where he clarified it?

Christ is BOTH God AND man...

So the God-man did it...

The MAN who tried...

Named ADAM...

FAILED...

God joined Himself to human flesh and soul to pick man up from his [Adam's] failure...

THAT outcome has never been in doubt...

Arsenios

And it is not in doubt now!! You just don't understand and don't want to. A CYA thing, I guess.
The redundancy of your questions speak that.

No equivocation here: Tell us when did John the beloved know God joined Himself to human flesh __ or any of the writers of the gospels, that matter??

"But (and it's a big but)… not everyone will choose to accept the redeeming love of God and its invitation to salvation."

how did you miss that?

Perhaps by reading too quickly after the 3:00AM - 4:30AM Lenten Services?

I also then missed the meaning of Redemption that differentiates it from Salvation... Just parsing the sentence you provided: "The Love of God redeems and thereby invites all to Salvation." This shows that he thinks they are two different things, but does not specify what the difference is.

So let me ask you for Pope Francis' answer: What IS the Latin definition of Salvation, and how DOES it differ from Redemption?

I think you meant to ask when did they FIRST know...

When they encountered Him in the flesh... [the 12 minus Judas]
When He arose from the dead...
When they received reports of Him in the flesh... [Luke and the Ethiopian]
When they encountered Him in the Spirit AFTER He was in the flesh... [Paul]
And on and on...

Arsenios

because of what Jesus did
everyone has redemption
meaning that it is now possible for them to receive salvation

no one has received salvation unless they chose to love God and neighbor

salvation is in heaven with God

There is another small matter...

Had Adam NEVER sinned...

Christ would STILL have incarnated...

It was His Plan for man all along...

To incarnate...

That He JOIN sinless Adam to Himself...

But Adam DID sin...

And Adam NEEDED to be sinless in order to be joined with God in the flesh (of both)...

And THAT is why Christ ascended the Cross...

To DEFEAT the ENEMY who had duped Adam into sin...

And who was collecting his reward, our souls...

THAT enemy is Death...

Christ first overcame Death in His Own Body...

Then in the bodies of the members of His Body, the Church...

And Death will itself be the last to be overcome...

At the Second Coming and the Last Judgement...

So our Baptism is unto sinless purity of soul that we join with Christ...

And thereafter, we live repentant lives...

Preserving the purity of Baptism in confession and repentance...

Running the race set before us...

Persevering to the end...

Thank-you...

So redemption is the possibility of Salvation...

And Salvation is NOT here and now...

I missed that in the article...

So two MORE reasons...

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

John 10

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
