You don't obey Jesus! Jesus said on the sermon on the mount that we sin with just a thought or a desire that is evil. How many sinners can control their thoughts and desires? How about zero.
It is easy not to think of evil.

We have to admit we are sinners, I did that.
Jesus says to confess our sins, I did that.
Jesus says to repent of those sins, I did that.
You are the one who is rebelling against Jesus.
Why do you rebel against the words of God?
It is easy not to think of evil.
Epoisses is one who think everything Jesus said was ironic, maybe even sarcastic?
There are people who can only defend their beliefs by accusing others.
Who do they get that from?
The Bible says that Satan is the accuser.
Think about it.
I'm trying to help you, buddy. Satan has deceived you into thinking self-righteousness is true obedience. He did it with the Jews and he does it with Christians and he even does it with atheists. Everyone thinks they're good because they keep some worthless rules.
My answer is Post #45 above. You cannot answer because you do not obey.
Pate never seems to lack the self-styled pride to be the first to cast a stone. So confident in the midst of his ignorance. No, he can't answer because he does not BELIEVE.
I can hardly believe you call the word of God worthless.
I call your works loving, gospel hating self-righteousness worthless, you petulant child.
The gospel is repent and be saved. It is never ever shameful to obey Jesus.
Your obedience is on par with the doggie who jumps thru hoops for a scooby snack. Keep some rules, get to heaven - that about sums it up right?
You keep trying to shame me for obeying Jesus but it just reveals more what you are.
Your obedience is will worship that was condemned by Paul in Colossians. Try walking by faith.
I have faith and trues in EVERYTHING that jesus teachings.
Jesus taught the law to show you that you don't measure up to God's standards. If keeping the law is what pleases God, Jesus would have loved the Pharisees, instead he called them hypocrites, snakes, sons of hell, etc. God never intended for his people to live by laws and rules, "The Just Shall Live By Faith" Faith in Jesus Christ and his Gospel. This is why he abolished the law, Ephesians 2:15.
When it comes to religion people are prone to believe some of the weirdest most bizarre doctrines that there is.
I've read through this thread and it has led me to one inescapable conclusion...
