He was sent not to baptize but to preach the gospel. His emphasis was on the gospel not on baptizing, I give ya that. But he was baptized himself and did baptize some and others baptized around him and he never called it a churchanity. Do you think he would have been afraid to say something if it was wrong?
Don't be like the religious, denominationalists and try and squeeze "primarily" into 1 Corinthians 1:17 KJV. It's not there. It means what it says. And who said what Paul did early on was wrong, but you? Paul baptized some until he was sent not to baptize. Simple.

John W . . .

Were you ever baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit?

If not, why not?

If so, what is your objection?

Nasty's "argument:" All "baptisms" are the same.

Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Read it:in the name of Jesus Christ

Where is "the name of the Father(and the Son), and the Holy Spirit?"

Acts 8:12 KJV
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Read it:the name of Jesus Christ

Where is "the name of the Father(and the Son), and the Holy Spirit?

Unlike nasty, the bible is a book of details, and thus, members of the boc are to pay attention to details.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8 KJV

The order for the "little flock"-Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria.

"And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem(the "little flock"-my note); and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles." Acts 1:8 KJV

The 12 remained in Jerusalem-they were not in Judea and Samaria.

The 12's instructions in Mt. 28 pertain to the time in Israel's kingdom program when the gospel of the kingdom(which is not equivalent to "the gospel" the good news, of 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV; of course, nasty Nag does not know that "gospel" means "good news")will be going forth to all nations, and they, the "little flock", not Paul, would be teaching all nations. The specified time for that was not immediately following the Lord Jesus Christ's return to heaven. But rather, in line with the Lord Jesus Christ's teachings re. the climatic stage of God's program with the nation Israel, it would come after repentance had been given to Israel, and the final installment to Israel's program involving the day of the Lord had begun. Then the gospel of the kingdom would be preached in all the world for a witness of all nations. Thus, in view of the fact that it will be those of "the nations", who, unlike Israel, know not naturally the true, living God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the truth of the triune nature of the Godhead, they, the nations, will be instructed in the truth of who the living God of the scriptures is, and thus commanded to be baptized in the "name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, i.e., the 3 persons of the Godhead, when any of them respond positively to the gospel of the kingdom.

The audience of Acts already knew the LORD God of the OT, and the Holy Spirit, but not the Lord Jesus Christ;thus "the name of Jesus
Christ." The 12's preaching and practice in Acts 2, is not, however, to the nations in accordance to the Mt. 28 charge, and they were not preaching it there. Instead, their preaching and practice was to Israel, to proselytes(not nations), in accordance with the extension of mercy and forbearance the LORD God was giving to Israel following their rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ, "the mercies of David thy servant"(2 Chr. 6:42 KJV), "the sure mercies of David"(Is. 55:3 KJV), and before the scheduled beginning of the Lord's day of purging and avenging wrath, as Psalms 101 asserts, as Peter declared in Acts 2 at Pentecost, after the Lord ascended back to the Father, and He would sit at His right hand "until I make thy foes thy footstool." During that time while sitting, God would give repentance to Israel. And just as the record of Acts 1-7 describes, this is exactly what He did. Notice:

Acts 7:56 KJV-not sitting, but standing=judgment:

"And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. "

Therefore, Peter preached the truth to Israel regarding who Jesus of Nazareth is(He is their Messiah/Christ, and they rejected Him). Therefore, the issue with the believing Jews(of the LORD God)was not of baptizing them in the name of the triune Godhead, but of baptizing them "in the name of Jesus Christ", as the remnant who were now acknowledging the truth that this "Jesus of Nazareth" is their long awaited Messiah/Christ according to prophecy, and that they were now identifying(meaning of baptism) themselves with Him, and disassociating themselves from the rebellious element in Israel, soon to be purged in wrath in the day of the Lord. Hence the difference between the situation in Acts 2:38, and the Lord's charge in Mt. 28. The charges at the end of Mt., Mark, and Luke are not the same.

Survey John 4 KJV, Mt. 10 KJV, Acts 8, Ez. 34-37 KJV. The Lord's actions in John 4 must be viewed with this background. In these places(and others), the reversal of the second course of the Lev. 26 curses/punishment is described-the division of Israel in two. The reversal would occur and the end of the 5th course, the final punishment, and with the establishment of the kingdom of heaven upon the earth. and part of the "good news" of the kingdom, would be the rejoining Judah and the children of Israel his companions("For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions"-Ez. 37:16 KJV) together with Joseph and all the house of Israel his companions(''For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions:"). The climatic stage in Israel's program had arrived with the Christ in Israel, and this was the "good news." and hence, on His way to Galilee:

"And he must needs go through Samaria." John 4:4 KJV

Notice-again, the order of Act 1:8 KJV:

"He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. " John 4:3 KJV

Judah and His companions first.

And then Acts 8:the Samaritans of Acts 8. This pertains to the issue of God making it evident that Israel's program was not continuing on as expected(Acts 7-Israel rejected God the Father with Saul, Israel rejected the Lord Jesus Christ Mt.-John, and rejects, blasphemes the Holy Ghost, Mark 3:29 KJV/Luke 12:10 KJV in Acts 7) following the conclusion of the events described in Acts 1-7.

Acts 1-7 describes those things that occurred during the time of God's extension to Israel of mercy and forbearance following their rejection of His Christ, and thus their Christ before the scheduled beginning of the Lord's day of purging and vexing wrath.

"3 strikes-your out", in Acts 7.

As Stephen testified, the Son of man was no longer sitting, but standing, and thus the time had arrived to make His enemies His footstool, as the time had arrived for the Lord to institute His day of purging the chaff and avenging wrath.

However, Acts 8 ff.demonstrates what was prophesied , scheduled, and expected to happen, did not begin to happen. The Lord did not begin to demonstrate to Israel His wrath, nor did any of the judgments take place. Quite the contrary, the events that occurred were unexpected, and not in accordance with how Israel's program was expected to progress according to prophecy-things, therefore, which began to indicate that "the plan had changed", that the LORD God's program with Israel was not continuing on as expected. And one of the first indications of this was what Acts 8 records regarding the LORD God dealing with the Samaritans-"out of order."

The Samaritans were not scheduled to be dealt with until Jerusalem and all of Judea had been dealt with first, and the completion of this would not take place until some time within the day of the Lord. Something unusual was happening for the LORD God to have Philip preach the Lord Jesus Christ to the city of Samaria in Acts 8-before their time. And thus, "connecting the dots"-Acts 9 and Paul.

Then why didn't they preach the same thing?

Because the one group of people was born and raised under the old covenant, and the other group never even heard of the old covenant.

Yet, both groups were preached the new covenant.

They did, "they" were sent to two diff groups that understood things differently.

Is that a fact? So differently in fact we have this account,,

20When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law. 21They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs. 22What shall we do? They will certainly hear that you have come, 23so do what we tell you. There are four men with us who have made a vow. 24Take these men, join in their purification rites and pay their expenses, so that they can have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know there is no truth in these reports about you, but that you yourself are living in obedience to the law. 25As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they should abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality.”

26The next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them. Then he went to the temple to give notice of the date when the days of purification would end and the offering would be made for each of them.

Like STP, she hates churches.

She, like STP criticizes churches and pastors.

She, like STP criticizes people who go to church.

Yep, because church people love to observe the holy sacraments of baptism and communion.

The ungodly are reviled by such practices of righteousness, even though they are ordained by Christ, Himself!

Their resistance to the holiness and truths of God are so obvious!

And yet TOL thinks these members are so cool . . .
