You must have missed (or totally ignored)this part in 1 Peter 2:10 "Which in time past were not a people," which makes a direct connection to --->>>>Hosea 1:10 which makes a direct connection to Paul's words quoted from the same when speaking of the GENTILES--->>>Romans 9:24-26.

It was a complete slam dunk in the face of false doctrine.:banana:
