The Holy Spirit CONVICTS the world every single day since Jesus Christ and His vicarious, perfect, finished/completed work on the Cross of Calvary; otherwise, I would not have had the opportunity to receive the invitation for God to save me.

When Jesus came to earth and had his ministry, he came ONLY for those who already belonged to God.
Some Jews were cut off so they could not hear Jesus and be saved.
When Jesus was lifted off the earth, then all could come to him to be saved.

The world is already convicted when Jesus sent the Holy Spirit into the world. All are convicted and condemned until they come to Jesus to be saved.
