lol I remember when you flamed out here and ... that's not the reason lol :D
I will never be back to even read here. I'm thoroughly cured of you/
Portraying us as a disease was rude enough. Leaving us bereft of guidance right before the total financial collapse of the world's economies on 30 September of whatever year that was felt kind of like getting slashed at the end of a sentence. Ouch!

Sorry 'bout that. I was upset at the time but I have been changed by the love of God since then. It's a theology called righteousness by faith that when put into action in our lives changes us from the inside out. It's like Jesus said:

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

It was wild. Of course Clete had a similar episode a little while ago, promising to never return, but he was back in like two weeks. Ffreeloader stayed away a lot longer than that lol :)

I agree with you 100%. Christianity has no room for rudeness.
Right.
And many with hardened hearts will use Christ as their excuse to make unsubstantiated character assassinations about others with no knowledge of evidence.
Christ never make unsubstantiated character assassinations about others with no knowledge of evidence.

So telling the Pharisees they were hypocrites is rude? I call that the truth.

The truth is offensive to those who hate the truth.

So yes, being rude and offensive is good when one is speaking truth.

Yes, I understand this method of using a question to give yourself an out when called out for the false accusation. The question had nothing to do with the conversation, BTW.

Yes, Jesus died for my sins.

Now grow up.
Why do you insult me for asking questions? The question I asked you has everything to do with insulting people in the name of Christianity? It was very relevant.

How is that conceding anything, Like I said, Jesus hanging naked on the cross for sinful people doesn't fit with who He is. It doesn't come close to fitting.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light.

He is also the Rock of Offense.

Jesus was offensive to those who hate Him, the Truth, because truth is offensive to those who hate the truth.

Jesus going to the cross to die for the sins of the world is itself offensive to those who reject Him.

Which is the entire point. There is nothing wrong with being offensive when one is speaking the truth, because the truth is naturally offensive to those who hate the Truth.

Actually I still disagree with you. Being insulting for insulting's sake is way outside the bounds of Christian behavior. Jesus came to show us the Father so it is outside of not only His nature but the Father's and the Holy Spirit's also,

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Joh 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works

Correction:

Modern day Christianity is full of people who think it's always bad to be rude.

Jesus was rude. Offensive, even. He is the "Rock of Offence" that will grind people into powder.

People who follow Him should know when it's a good thing to be rude.
I don't recall Jesus ever having been recorded for calling people puerile names and lying about them as Nick M has with me. If you consider it "Christlike" to call people child molesting queers then you need to buy a clue.

Was Jesus rude when He called people vipers?
Considering that He was dealing with people who were abusing their power and authority over the population then a bit of context wouldn't go amiss. If you think that's an excuse for pathetic slurs and innuendo not to mention outright false witness then newsflash - it isn't.

You clearly don't know the Jesus or the Bible very well:

As they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged ’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged ’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: of them you will kill and crucify, and of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

You are of father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own for he is a liar and the father of it.

“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw to the little dogs.”

Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word.

And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: blind see and lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.” He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, Take up your bed and walk.’ ” Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath.

And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

Jesus was offensive to those He preached to and interacted with.
None of these justify immature and pathetic little insults and slurs and to try and use the Bible to justify that sort of behaviour is hardly befitting really. To pick up on one example - that being Jesus and Canaanite woman:

The Faith of a Canaanite Woman

21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

Reminder, your claim was:

I agree with you 100%. Christianity has no room for rudeness.

Are you now changing your argument to "Christianity has no room for 'insulting for insulting's sake'"? If so, then I fully agree!

But that wasn't what we were discussing.

Again, the claim was:

Christianity has no room for rudeness.

Arguing that certain kinds of rudeness are bad is a different discussion.

None of these justify immature and pathetic little insults and slurs and to try and use the Bible to justify that sort of behaviour is hardly befitting really.

Supra.

To pick up on one example - that being Jesus and Canaanite woman:

The Faith of a Canaanite Woman

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

Reminder: "dog" was a derogatory term for Gentiles.

Jesus didn't even use that. He used the diminutive form of the word, basically "doggette," which is even more insulting!
