Nick and GM are guilty of "drive by" neg reps against persons, just for what others' believe, but nothing to do with particular posts.

They neg rep just to destroy reputations . . .

Such hatefulness and destruction of reputations, without cause, should not be allowed on this site . . . for it is the opposite of being Christlike.

It is hard to remember all of Paul...

Eph_6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This is a high calling of the Kingdom of Heaven which is Christ within you... But MADies prefer to goad flesh and blood people for disagreeing with them, thinking that they do good in their little stinkies deposits of neg reps...

I find their efforts comforting, because they are the MAD confession of bankruptcy in their argument for two Gospels when Paul-the-Jew said there was only ONE...

Actually, I must remind myself, the above highlighted is all they have.

Is that what the Lord Jesus Christ did? Did he beat around the bush when it comes to the wicked? How about our apostle Paul?

The difference is that THEY had discernment...

Christ, btw, tried everything he could to turn the hard-heartedness of the leadership of the Jews to the Truth... He did not address the wickedness of the wicked, but that of the Pharisees and the Saducees... He even said He did not come to judge the world, but to turn it to repentance, as many as were willing...

Same with Paul - He was not running around condemning the wicked, but was saving the repentant... When his words were not heeded [heard with the hearing of faith], he moved on as the Holy Spirit directed him, and as Christ commanded...

I mean, look at how long he tolerated that "phophetess" with the unclean spirit, until he finally, after she followed him around the city all day saying the same thing over and over, rebuked her and commanded the demon to come out of her... Which got him driven out of town, and near killed him...

And you did not answer your Evangellical test question I posed for you... HOW, exactly, WELL does your Gospel Message of insult work, say, on the street? Ya gettin' lots of converts calling people vile and filthy??

Acts 2 KJV

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

You are describing Orthodox Monasticism...

Here is a CBS 60 Minutes piece on it:

Just a side note on the reputation thing, does everyone know a neg rep inflicts a single point of damage? It would take a large group of TOLer's working tirelessly to do anything like damage to anyone's numbers, if anyone is crazy enough to still be keeping track of that to begin with.

Heck, hide the number. I think that's possible somewhere in the settings, isn't it? And when was the last time you read anyone and thought either, "You know, that looked like a really cogent point, but the rep score...now I just don't know" or, "He seems like a royal idiot, but that rep score...there must be something more to him."

I must confess I have no idea if I have been neg-rep'ed or not - I suppose I have, but I do not go there any more - I learned its intent and am simply no longer willing to give it any attention whatsoever... I may look every couple of years or so, and I may never look again... Either is fine by me...

Here is the relevant quote:

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them,

"Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins,

and

ye shall receive the Gift
of the Holy Spirit.

Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you,
and
to your children,
and
to all that are afar off,
as many as the Lord our God shall call to Himself.

So the sequence is clearly:
First: Repentance
Second: Baptism into Christ
Third: Reception of the Gift of the Holy Spirit

And to WHOM is this promise given?

First: to the Jews whom he is addressing...
Second: to their children...
Third: To ALL whom the Lord our God should CALL to Himself... [Even those who are far away]

The "Gift" of the Holy Spirit, which in the early days was authenticated by God with the Gift of speaking in foreign languages, was given first in the inaugural blessing at Pentecost, and then to all those being baptized, and then to the Gentiles so that Peter would know that they were TO BE BAPTIZED... Which started the shift to the Gift being given to the Gentiles as well as the Jews, no difference...

Arsenios

I Have Seen One Person Post Acts 2:38, As a Point Of Contention Against MAD, With NO Mention Of Previous Or Subsequent Verses. If That Is A Starting Point For Debate, It Is Difficult to Move Forward

They neg rep just to destroy reputations . . .

You do a good job of that by yourself! Why should anyone help
you to destroy a reputation you've done a fine job of doing
yourself? How? By persistently being cranky/grouchy, negative,
and, 'Curmudgeon like!' Frankly, I don't like folks like you! But,
everyone has to suffer your presence here! How unfortunate?

We believes God when God speaks through His current Apostle, Paul.
Rom 6:1-2 KJV What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? (2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Rom 6:14-15 KJV For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (15) What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
The lairs of today are NOTHING new. They said the SAME thing about what Paul taught.

Don't be so hard on Nang!! She's trying her best to bring down
"Paul's Gospel!" And, single handedly, as well! So she hates
Madists, what's the big deal about that? She doesn't want those
'pesky' truth bearers to cause any more damage to the cause that,
John "Killer" Calvin started! Why are you Madists so angry with
Killer Calvin? After all, he only murdered 50 some people who
disagreed with his theology? Although, I have to admit, Billy
Graham, Luther, John Hus, Sturgeon, etc, never "killed"
anybody! However, "The Pope of Geneva" as Calvin was
nicknamed, played his part in the extermination of about 56 so
called;"Heretics" of his time! What a guy!!

Killer Calvin, you might say; is one of Nang's mentors from the
past? A few others around TOL sing his praises, as well! But, we
ALL have a "free-will choice" to believe in anything we are willing
to place our faith in, right?

Why won't you answer simple questions?

Like why aren't YOU HEALING EVERYONE like they did?
Act 5:15-16 KJV Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. (16) There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
You have said on MANY, MANY occasions that YOU have received the SAME SPIRIT that THEY DID.

I guess that you're just all talk and no action, oh faithless one.

Simple really.

I am not an Apostle, nor do I have that gift in the Church.

I do not really post to change the views of Madists.

I post to strengthen the brethren including myself to protect them from the errors of MAD and other religious delusions which keep people from both coming to faith in Christ and from growing up to be what God has called them (and myself) to be.

Back to the subject--

The 3000 were the example of all who should come to Christ ought be and do, who believed in God and who had not yet been filled with the Holy Spirit to become a Christian until Acts 2:38.

Meaning that many a church man or woman is in the same position today as the 3000 were before being saved, and being held in that position by various denominations including the RCC and protestants and even the Jews.

One can not be included in the first resurrection without having been filled with the Holy Spirit and in obedience to Acts 2:38. which includes water baptism with the washing away of ones sins by the Holy Spirit (as Paul also did)

Nothing of the original example of entering the Kingdom of God has been changed in principle.

If you are looking at the example of the 120 then you are looking at the wrong stage of the Christians growth.

It is best to start at the bottom as the first disciples of Christ did.

By the way LA; Christian and Madist are synonymous! Get it? Probably
not but, I had to say it anyway! Now, go about your business, speaking
nonsense, causing trouble, and barking orders that nobody pays any
attention to!

I hate to bring up the truth again but, Paul was sent to the gentiles
with the "Grace Message" given to him by the "Risen Lord Jesus Christ!"
And, Peter and the rest, continued to spread the "Kingdom Message" to
the House of Israel! That may annoy you however, it's the truth!

I notice, you don't do well with truth? However, it must be taught, in spite
of your disapproval!

LA, you continue to try and get GM banned by going to the "Woodshed"
and whining your heart out! All I ask you to do is; at least spell my name
correctly while gripping and crying? It's spelled; "Grosnick!" Try to remember
that, the next 100 times you visit the "Woodshed" to make a complaint about
me?

You don't want me to think you're an illiterate little, "Weasel Snitch" now, do you?
