Its in the 'choosing'......

Its in the 'choosing'......

More junk

19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

-Deuteronomy 30:19

Was the Lord just kidding here?

Many other passages have been shared in the 'Free Will' thread too,....too many to count. Looks like you may have to re-consider your theology :)

“We Will Serve the Lord”

14 “Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

-Joshua 24:14-15 (NASB)

Which one of those scriptures did God tell anyone that they had a freewill ?

God speaks and offers man a choice between life or death. He encourages them to choose life, because He is love,...and it is love's will that they live, survive, prosper and continue forward in blessings! - When God offers you a choice between two options, or even gives you an instruction, do you have the ability to choose what is offered before you? Do you have the ability to RESPOND to any religious instructions given to you by God, thru prophets, apostles, teachers, etc.? Do you have the freedom even NOW to read these words and CHOOSE how you are going to respond to them?

It is clear with the scriptures shared with you, that man has FREEDOM TO CHOOSE. - if you cant see that, then there is mental block or heavily encrusted religious dogma contorting your ability to see clearly, which has you in 'grid-lock',....a very sad and stubborn place to be. With religious dogma-crust over your eyes, like uncleaned matter,...spiritual vision is hard to come by. I suggest breaking thru the crust. The evidence is ever before you, in passage after passage. Man is free to choose, and Love being love, grants man this freedom, and furthermore encourages and supports his choice for Life!

The natural man's obligation!

1 Cor 15:46

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

Speaking of Adam, the natural head of man. As in the natural, mans responsibility is to obey the law of God handed down to him from the Creator. The option was do the commandment of God or die, either or,no in between. There's no obligation to the natural man to have Faith in Christ, but he's under the law of God. The natural man's obligation is to be innocent from transgressions, as Adam was prior to his transgression, or face the penalty of death; for the natural man is bound to the Law as long as he lives in the natural state. Its only when one is made dead to the Law by the Body of Christ Rom 7:4, meaning His Death, is he then free to be married to another, Christ by Faith. Otherwise the natural man is bound to the Law and its curse!

You serve an idol god !

The 'god' you serve violates his own principle and ethic of love. This 'god' also has stripped you of your innate freedom to choose your own path and destiny. This 'god' sounds more like your 'enemy',...yet you worship him. The ill-logic here is epic.

Without strength/ability!

Man, by nature is in a state of total inability spiritually. Paul writes, representing the Elect, Believers, that by nature we were this Rom5:6
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

You see that? Without strength, no not physical strength, but without Spiritual Strength.

asthenḗs (an adjective, derived from 1 /A "without" and sthenos, "vigor, strength") – properly, without vigor, living in a state of weakness (depletion). 722 (arotrióō) refers to a lack of necessary resources ("insufficient") – literally, "without adequate strength" and hence "frail, feeble (sickly)."

Spiritually without vigor or life or ability.

Paul here teaches the T in Tulip, mans total depravity or inability spiritually by nature, a teaching of scripture that is rejected by the religion of man!

Yet God in Genesis deemed man very good in his original creation, and creates him in his image and likeness. This original creation is not depraved, neither corrupted.

False freewill religion always gives credit to the ability of a spiritually dead person to make himself right with God by works of the flesh he does Rom. 8:8, which has nothing to do with Salvation in Christ Eph. 2:8-9.

But for all the Elect Eph. 1:4, Christ's Sheep Is. 53:6 which He was made a Surety for Heb. 7:22, His death alone Rev. 13:8 Justified them from Everlasting by His Imputed Righteousness Rom. 4:6-8. So then as they are born in time, He gives them His Spirit in New Birth and makes them able to believe / have Faith Gal. 5:22 and please God Rom. 8:9.

Rom. 8

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

Amen Sister!

Amenning your sister still does not nullify the truth of our original goodness in God's original creation, as it is in the manner of God's image and likeness, furthermore having God's laws innate within our conscience. Therefore man's freedom to choose was given AT his creation and is part of his natural constitution, it is his by creation and right.

This freedom includes an inclination towards good or evil, and draws upon influences from within and without, yet man is still free to choose and in this way is genuinely responsible for his actions (regardless of any bearing influence), and is therefore responsible for his own sin and salvation, while God's grace is ever available and allows man his ability to choose the right. No one denies that all allowances are granted by God's providence.

Traditional orthodox Judaism knows nothing of your theological doctrines or innovations. Furthermore Arminianism arose as an orthodox reaction to the extremes of Calvinism, while the truth of the matter may be a view somewhere inbetween that affirms both predestination and free will, but man always bears true responsibility in some measure for his choices, and can only be given that responsibility if he has any measure of genuine free will.

Denying the power thereof !

2 Tim 3:1-5

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

A prime example of this is when religious people who profess to believe the Gospel, the Doctrine of Godliness Titus 1:1

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

They will have good things to say about, and much fair speech about the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ, but yet will deny the Power of Christ's Person and Work to effect Salvation, to have any Saving Effects unto them He Lived and Died for ! Yes they deny the Power of the Blood and Death of Christ ! From such, the True Believer is to separate from !

Paul also infers and presents the reality of 'free will' in many of his letters. These passages infer man's freedom of choice, cooperating with God's grace, in 'synergy'. Isn't 'synergy' a cool word? ;):):surf:

When Paul says you can follow the flesh OR the Spirit, that implies you can choose what influence you will submit to, or accentuate. Your submission and response to his Spirit, is what allows you to please Him. See the synergetic activity here? - takes two co-operating, inter-acting, inter-relating, to effect communion.

Exactly! And these same folks insist that Christ shed His Blood, tasted death for every person of mankind, but yet He fails at bringing it to pass, and sends many to hell, which would mean that what God desired Job 23:13 He was powerless to bring to fruition.

But the Truth is, what Almighty God Wills, He does. All the Elect God Loved and has chosen in union with Christ to have forgiveness of sins Eph. 1:4-7 His Precious Blood is Powerful to Save every one of them!

Ps. 115:3
But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Daniel 4:35
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Amen Sister. Pate is an excellent example of one who has a form of godliness but denys the power thereof. He makes all these posts about Christ being victorious over the world, flesh and devil, has defeated sin, then turns around and says that men and women Christ did all this for, still wind up lost, Christ death being denied its saving power and efficacy.
