What is the Gospel?

Actually, it's the Bible that defines all things for the "church".

Too often, the "Church" strays away or adds to what is written in Scripture.

The SOURCE for all Truth is the Holy Scripture.
There's nothing in Holy Scripture about abortion or pornography. Both of those are sin, and grave ones.

Mat 5:27-28
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Exodus 20:13
You shall not murder.

Difficult to say - I guess it would depend.

I don't trust that men can do so infallibly.
I'm just making sure that somebody here is giving you the position of half the world's Christians, so you can at least consider it a starting point. Catholics believe that the bishops are all together the supreme teachers of the Church, and you don't have to believe what they teach to know that what they teach is the authorized teaching of the Church, as a non-Christian, you can at least know that position exists, since half of all Christians believe it, even more if you include the Orthodox also believe that, although, they are talking about a separate set of bishops. The bishops are the supreme teachers in the Church, not the theologians or scripture scholars, like in Protestantism.

Right. So there's nothing in Holy Scripture about abortion or pornography, and Protestants have to extrapolate from scriptures like these to be able to teach authoritatively on matters like abortion and pornography.

Nothing explicit - but those verses seem to cover them.

Men are fallible. I don't see anyone is able to claim authority. Certain RCC teachings appear pretty odd to me - but I don't want to derail the thread........

Of course men are fallible. But Christ isn't. And Christ built the Church. He instituted the college of bishops, seeding it with His Twelve Apostles. It is through these men, through their successors, that He speaks to us today.

No! Protestants!
Says the fellow who has not covenanted actual membership Rome's churches. Just on the outside looking in, as it were. Do you even know what Rome has to say about your current situation?

Says the one who does have to extrapolate. And, who is in the enviable position of being but a single visit to the confessional away from full communion with the Catholics.

Y'ever going to answer my question, written thrice now to you, about why you're not Orthodox? The last time I asked, you answered me with a diatribe about why you're not theologically Catholic, which does not apply to the Orthodox churches at all. Why aren't you Orthodox. Why not. I get your anti-Catholic argument, but none of that argument applies to Orthodoxy.

Of course there is. Thou shalt not kill, and thou shalt not commit adultery. If you look at a woman with lust you've committed adultery with her in your heart.

It's all there in the Bible. If it's not, it's of man, and not God.

What's to extrapolate? No one needs to be told those are wrong. Our God given conscience tells us that.

There is no succession of bishops. Those who desire the office and meet the qualifications are recognized as such.

Timothy 3:1-7
This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
