Like you, I hate war. War is never good. Sometimes though, we have to defend ourselves against an evil oppressor. This is the situation Ukraine now finds themselves in - and like I said before, what happens if Putin doesn’t stop at Ukraine? We in the west need to do something, and we need to do a lot more than these toothless sanctions. Putin is evil.
Agree 100% …

I am praying for them.

Trump must testify

BREAKING: Prosecutors Leading Manhattan DA’s Probe Into Trump Abruptly Resign Over ‘Serious Doubts’ According to The Times, the new Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg, has ‘serious doubts’ about the case against Trump – leading two of his top prosecutors to resign.
How frustrated and disappointed Hillary cultists must be at this news. After years of failing to find dirt on Trump, the democrat attack-Trump apparatus has again collapsed. That is good news for good people and bad news for bad people.

Two prosecutors leading the Manhattan district attorney’s probe into former President Donald Trump’s business practices threw a temper tantrum and quit on Wednesday. They’d spent more than a year trying to cobble together fragments of a ludicrously weak case, only to be told by the newly-elected D-A, Alvin Bragg, that there is “no there there.”

It’s not unusual for an elected D-A to take office and undertake a review of ongoing cases, especially high-profile ones. And it’s not uncommon when the line prosecutors –who have spent months or years trying to build a case– get their knickers in a bunch if the new D-A takes a different point of view by concluding that the case has serious problems with those pesky things called evidence and proof.

Ukrainians are not exactly standing still - they seem pretty determined to fight.
Like early Americans fighting England, these free people are willing to fight to the death to preserve their freedom against the brutal communist fascist Russian barbarian invaders. And the people are wisely arming themselves against the barbarian hordes, which shows good sense.

President Biden's words are clear and decisive. Fox News continuing to carry Putin's water is pure propaganda. What was Fox just saying?

Oh right:

Many top hosts for Fox News and other conservative media voices are blaming the White House for supposedly enabling Russia’s attack on Ukraine — even some of the same personalities who previously ridiculed President Biden’s warnings that an invasion was imminent. . . .

. . . . days earlier, Bartiromo had sounded confident the Biden administration was inflating the threat of Russian aggression to distract from bad political news at home — particularly, a motion filed by special counsel John Durham that was described by many Fox News hosts as a massive scandal.

“Was this a ruse?” she asked her audience Wednesday last week. “Was this whole thing an effort to take everybody’s attention away from what Hillary Clinton did and what we know to be a complete hoax over this Russia investigation?”

“This whole thing is a scam. It’s a total and complete scam,” former Trump White House adviser Stephen K. Bannon said on his podcast before the Russian strikes, defending Putin as “anti-woke.”

Other conservative outlets elected to ignore or play down the crisis. One America News spent most of Thursday morning airing extended live coverage of the Conservative Political Action Conference, with only brief mentions of Ukraine.
It does not ultimately matter what talking heads say on Fox News, on CNBC, in newspaper print, or anywhere else. Truth and facts remain untarnished by human opinions. Putin is an unsaved barbarian with eyes on destroying innocent people or sovereign nations for his own personal gain.

On this we can agree: Putin is intent on destroying innocent people and sovereign nations for his own personal gain.

I've never stopped seeing him as the enemy, the ex KGB officer who wants to bring back the glory of the USSR, who oppresses his citizens and sows havoc in other countries, including ours.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Russia vetoed a draft U.N. Security Council resolution on Friday that would have deplored Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, while China abstained from the vote - a move western countries view as a win for showing Russia's international isolation.

The United Arab Emirates and India also abstained from the vote on the U.S.-drafted text. The remaining 11 council members voted in favor. The draft resolution is now expected to be taken up by the 193-member U.N. General Assembly.
India is a wildcard in this. They are closer to Russia in many ways then they are to Europe or America.

It'll be interesting to see where they fall out in this.

Strange, isn't it? How about Trudeau's praise of Chinese party officials of slavers and assassins?

There should be no surprise Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he needs more evidence before concluding China’s horrific treatment of its minority Uyghur Muslim population is a genocide, despite having agreed two years ago that Canada’s treatment of its Indigenous population was a genocide.

Article content

As Maya Angelou famously put it: “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.”
While Trudeau is taking a somewhat less starry-eyed view of China these days, in 2013, as Liberal leader, he was asked during a “Ladies’ Night” Liberal fundraiser what country he most admired besides Canada.
He responded: “There’s a level of admiration I actually have for China. Their basic dictatorship is actually allowing them to turn their economy around on a dime and say, ‘We need to go green, we want to start investing in solar’.”
