My first car. A little 2 door Ford Escort. It looked awful and wouldn't go very fast, but it was mine

The first truck I had was a S-10 SS. It was by far the best vehicle I ever had. It had a very hot engine and was very fast, good looking too. Never gave me any trouble other than the tickets it got me, and got me into some good times too.

The one I wish I could have said it was my favorite car to own . . .
The 1940 Ford Coupe, with a flat head V-8. My all time favorite.
I (we) have owned a lot of cars. And pick a favorite is tough.
I have had several 1957 Ford two-door sedans, one I liked was the one I put a 428CJ in, which size wise in dimensions it was very close to the Ford 352/390 FE. It fit fairly well, I had to use a six cylinder radiator to ensure a good fan clearance; what a sleeper. BTW, I used 1957 Ford's when I raced at Colorado National Speedway.
Then there was the 1964 Pontiac LeMans coupe, that I put in a 421 Pontiac V-8 with dual fours. Two words - Road rocket.
same hereThen there was the 1969 Ford Torino Talladega that we we bought new, another big block 428CJ with a C-6 transmission. It was sure fast going to the grocery store.
I never head of the 440 Wedge, just the popular 413 and the less popular 426 Max Wedge. I liked these engines, they are little known today, but they were very fast. I had a college boyfriend who had the Mopar 413 Wedge Sport Fury @ 425 HPCan't forget the 1971 Plymouth Fury I, which had 440 wedge head V-8. We had it for about a year. Three words - Brute force powerful.
How about the 1984 Thunderbird Coupe that we had, my son help put a 351W in it. Fun, Fun, Fun!
The favorite actually goes to the 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4-door sedan. We ran the wheels off it so to speak, well at least it it wouldn't run any more. We found another one and did the same thing with that one. One word - Dependable.
The old 49's gave way in 1964 to a two year old 1962 Ford Galaxie 500, two tone, 4-door sedan, a really nice family car that we had for 5 years.
Of course there are others, but that is for another time.
Oh man.... I'll bet you think about that car every day.My favorite car (owned in high school) is also one of my biggest regrets (for having sold it).
A red 1968 Shelby GT500KR.
Would this be like the 428 Ford used in the 'Cobra Jet that Ford used in the 69 mustang?
This was a super fast engine first in the 1962 Pontiac Catalina and not many made, if I remember.

Fastest thing I had was 426 Hemi street and race 3/4 cam Plymouth Barracuda; this was like the SS Cuda of 1968, accept it could be street legal, or with some mechanical changes, a race car.
Also, the street Hemi Dodge Charger
