Have you considered verification by checking against the scriptures?

I'm sure that virtually all Christians for the first millennium-and-a-half of Church history will be glad to hear that...

I know, it's no fun when the truth is revealed, especially so early in a thread.
I'm here to learn (which I did learn from Cruciform's links), not to listen to some atheist blather.
What if Ecclesial Deism is true? That would be extremely bad news for all professing Christians:Cruciform, what if it is true?
:sigh:...
This has already been hashed out on other threads, yet you continue to make the same rational errors in this matter. To point out the obvious one more time: the recent clergy sex scandal has involved less than 2% of priests in the Catholic Church. This means that more than 98% of Catholic priests never committed such crimes, and should not be painted with the same brush as those who actually did commit these acts. Much less should the Catholic Church as a whole be condemned on the basis of the personal sins of a tiny portion of its clergy. Moreover, this percentage among Catholic priests represents a number much smaller than the clergy in other, non-Catholic, denominations and sects. Your anti-Catholic zeal has simply taken you beyond the bounds of a reasonable or rational critique.

Incorrect; the two percent statistic you keep harping on came from deeply flawed data, as we've previously discussed. This is a conspiracy that extends to the highest levels of the papacy: a conspiracy to abuse and torture children, hide these crimes from civil authorities, and avoid punishment and prosecution. This has happened for decades (that we know of) involving thousands of clergy (that we're aware of) and thousands upon thousands of savaged, nightmarishly abused children (that we know of) on every continent on Earth (with the exception of Antarctica).
Your inability to admit as much just shows the level of your self-deception.
P.S. As if a "mere" portion of the clergy excused any of this behavior whatsoever! You're loathe to condemn what's occurred even within the fictional, imaginary framework of your abusive "two percent." Incredible.
So being angry because children are being abused is whining? Prove that they are not being abused. It's immature to accuse someone of "whining" when they speak up about what they perceive to be a wrong. Was Jesus "whining" when he pointed out the hypocrites?
Do you think the Roman Catholic Church today is the same church as the church in 431?why do you think the Catholic Tradition is the only historic source of the N.T. Canon?
Thanks for being infatuated with me, but I was asking Granite what he thought should be done to the Catholic Church.
Thanks for being infatuated with me...
Classic. Hos 3:1.[Bybee slogan/motto] the irony of that post. :rotfl:
Classic. Hos 3:1.
Tasty.[ Hos 3:1] mmmmm - raisin cakes.
Christ's historic Catholic Church has not changed in its essence in two thousand years, any more than the oak tree has changed in its essence since it grew from the acorn from which it began.Do you think the Roman Catholic Church today is the same church as the church in 431?
:nono: Sorry, try again:
It does not help your argument to deny Roman Catholic teachings. Don't you stand linger: proudly behind these false teachings? I guess that whole Protestant Reformation was unnecessary (Prov. 14:5, 25). :dizzy:Sorry, try again...
Yes, you just keep banging away on a single drum constructed out of anti-Catholic distortions, non sequiturs, stereotypes, and canards, and expect everyone to simply fall in line with your grossly imbalanced conspiracy-theory-esque declarations. No one is denying that the clergy abuse scandal has occurred. However, intelligent and informed individuals will wisely avoid your hysterical distortions and misrepresentations of the details, as well as your gigantic non sequitur of equating the personal sins of a relative few with the supposed actions of the whole. (Time for an Intro. to Philosophy course, seriously.) In any case, I'm not going to pursue this any further here, especially since you've been corrected on these and many other points on other threads. Find a different "argument" to attack Christ's historic Church with; this one just isn't going to work for you. :nono:Incorrect; the two percent statistic you keep harping on came from deeply flawed data, as we've previously discussed. Already answered (Post #116). If you have no substantive reply, just say so.It does not help your argument to deny Roman Catholic teachings.
