Now, now, let's not get our corsett all in a bunch. I was simply stating my opinion.

Easy, Mr. Elliott, have another banquet beer.

Of course it would. Would it shake my faith in God or my knowledge that through Jesus Christ I have been save? I think not.

I'd sincerely hope your ease and calm in the face of this event would be shared with your brethern...

The atonement is universal in nature to all those who accept that Christ died for them.

This is an understandable if time-wasting attitude, from my perspective. I'd say witnessing to ET once he gets here/shows himself should be last on our list of priorities. But again, understandable.

Don't mind if I do. And dern it all, you went and made me misspell corset, too!

I have faith in their convictions.

Thank you for your praise and your censure. :e4e:

No, there is no evidence that such an event ever occurred. There is most likely other lifeforms in the universe given its enormous size and incomprehensible number of planets and stars. But if we add the chance that they must be advanced forms of life, so advanced that they are capable of traveling such enormous distances and the chance that they stumble upon our planet, the chance is not so great.
Why would they avoid making contact, avoid leaving a trace or not exterminate us? They are clever enough to avoid our technology, but they are caught by the amateur camera of some lone individual? It does not make much sense.

 Nope. I'd guess it was the normal number :plain:...what?

Extra terrestrials? Nope. Never happened. They've never been to this planet. They don't exist.

cosmic philosophy.....

Don't get the conspiracy theorists started! :IA: Now expect a verbose and long winded post by freelight. :chuckle:

:) Salutations ........

To address the thread-title question,....YES. - plus consider that any divine incarnation, bodhisattva or avatar sent to our planet from the heaven-worlds would also be an 'extraterrestial' by definition. (Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, etc.) - also the 'divinity' in us is also of an 'ET' nature.

For those looking to explore and research 'extra-terrestrial presence and influence' see my 'ET Theology' thread. - our cosmic history goes back many millions of years and we can draw from many resource materials plus our own mythology and religious history for hints and insights.

While there is only One Universal Father/Mother and Supreme Being, the Infinite ONE....each planetary culture will often have their own mythology, divine incarnations, legends and spiritual capacity or development in any given age. Therefore a kind of 'monotheism' or 'monism' (but not limited to our traditional concept of such) will be fundamental since Life is One, no matter how a culture or individual relates to that central reality.

There is Only original Spirit or Infinite Intelligence.

Research for yourself :poly:

Hi TB,

If you've noticed the trend of my writings, I have been condensing more, at least in the dialogue formats, unless of course more 'words' are deemed necessary. Its interesting to recognize our own habits and trends, as we consciously evolve. ;)

Looking at Infinity and 'space' in general, I find it odd believing that we are the only sentient beings in the entire cosmos, given that we can only go so far into the vast regions of space as our current technology allows. - but even then,...we have enough on our own soil, local solar system or universe and DNA for starters. If one is content with their own mundane life or cosmological box, then so be it,....but there's always more discoveries to be made.

Hmmm . . . I would expect ET's to adapt to our primitive communication quickly. ;)

I absolutely believe in extra-terrestrials visiting earth. It is well-documented... in scripture.

They are called messengers, ambassadors, dominions, principalities, powers, "the Prince of Persia," and many other things. They are not of this world. Some of them come here to serve and minister to us... and others reside here and are at war with the commander-king of the good extra-terrestrials and (by default) with us, as well. And as Christians, we battle against them on a regular basis, as well.

I find the idea of more than 4 dimensions a cause of major brain hurt.

I'm not sure if I believe in the many worlds theory, or string theory.

I have a theory that there is...erm....string in the world.

All colors, actually.

I doubt FTL travel is possible, and Space is freaking huge. I vote no.

At the speed of light, time stands still remember? So when we look through the hubble, we will see the origins of the universe, as time was not moving for the photons. And the time relative to us that it took to get here. What? We saw fully formed galaxies? Never mind, I am getting off track.
