Why would an absentee ballot allow you any more time to research what's on the ballot? :plain:

have you ever tried to get a sample ballot before going to the polls?
I have
and
it is very difficult
have you ever gone to the polls and found stuff you have never heard about?
I have

so why are they so mad at you?

they are mad

I know they are mad but why are they upset with you

I can only speculate

I love it when you speculate

they don't vote

so?

they have to rationalize not voting

how do you do that?

convince yourself that it doesn't make any difference

and you are showing there is a difference

there you have it

Don't you have voter pamphlets?

But yes, lots of people prefer absentee ballots. Voting can be confusing. I usually bring a cheat sheet for myself. I did early voting once, but it was at a polling place. I don't think I've ever done early mail voting.

never seen a voter pamphlet
where did you get them?

I have voted by mail at least five times now
and
it is what I prefer
but
I must admit you get a better feeling going to the polls

I always have them sent. They have information regarding candidates and proposals on the ballot. The information isn't necessarily good to go by, because it's written by the sponsors and primary opponents, but the guides have everything that's on the ballot.

I like going to the polls, but I can understand how mailing would be better. I was reading that Oregon has one of the highest voter turnouts and they have mail ballots only.

have you ever tried to get a sample ballot before going to the polls?
I always receive a sample ballot in the mail from the supervisor of elections. I have never requested one. They are sent automatically to all registered voters in the county and probably in the state although I'm not sure about that.

I have voted in six different states
and
can't recall ever getting a sample ballot

so why don't mad people vote?

they think it is work

well you have to do something

it doesn't matter what you do

it does matter why you do it

why?

you can't earn your salvation

who thinks they can do that?

those who believe in works

you can believe in works without believing you are earning your salvation

so why would you believe in works?

works show what you really believe

Perhaps 'MAD' folks are stuck in some 'mid-dispensation' warp :)

One 'dispensation' may be good as any other, but watch out for the traps.

The fact remains no matter what 'spin' you put on it,.....that faith without works is dead. Faith is the essential requirement; works are but the manifestation of that faith. Only a living faith avails, proving itself thru ACTION.

so what happened to your arminian friend?

still researching augustine's double predestination

why would he be doing that?

free will is the only explanation

does he really think it is free?

well there are consequences

everyone knows that

not exactly

so it is not free if there are consequences?

that may be their point

well that is stupid

exactly

so they are kicking peter around again

they even have a name for it

peter primacy

someone has to be in charge

you mean like the president

exactly

some think the bible is in charge

whose interpretation?

doesn't it mean what it says?

is that a joke?

someone has to make the call

every time there is a pitch

so you see peter as an umpire?

somebody has to make the call

so it doesn't have to be right?

no

it just has to be accepted

right

what if you don't accept it?

you are ejected

why?

somebody has to be in charge
