So then what saved this man?

But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.”Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” - Luke 23:40-43 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke23:40-43&version=NKJV

It certainly wasn't because he obeyed the law. He was being put to death for murder. And he did no works after being put to death, because he was dead.

If as you say BOTH faith and works are required, how was this man saved? Was it not his faith alone that Jesus saw and therefore because of it He promised the man to be in paradise?

The man wasn't a jew, and therefore most likely knew very little of any ceremonial works, so that's out of the picture.

I have already explained this to you more than once.

That man obeyed. The Bible says he feared God, believed in Jesus, humbled himself, admitted his sins, acknowledged Jesus before others, and called on Jesus to save him.

One means the same.
No, it does not... and ONCE AGAIN it never will no matter how many times you repeat it.

Now tell me where I put 'the same' in the scriptures.
You just said it again, you mindless zombie.

Do you see now how you are dishonest about what I do?
You are the only dishonest one here.

By the way, tell me, is Jesus love?
BTW, quit trying change the subject like a three year old.

A person can receive more faith after they believe (fruit of the Spirit).

The obedience of faith is man's obedience....faith in the Lord Jesus Christ' obedience unto death.

Right, a man must obey and have faith, believe; however, that is not the only thing Jesus tells us to do.

Jesus tells us how to get saved and stay saved, and repenting of sins is a must.

Jesus taught repenting of sins when he walked the earth, his apostles taught it, and Jesus continued to teach it after ascending to heaven.

Adding to the scriptures is quoting scripture and adding words to it that are not there.

As for changing the subject, I am not.

Tell me if Jesus is love.

Have you ever said Jesus is love?

Why are you afraid to answer that?

That is what you do.

The Bible: "the three are one".
GT: "the three are one AND THE SAME".

As for changing the subject, I am not.
You always do. You are an infant.

Tell me if Jesus is love.

Have you ever said Jesus is love?

Why are you afraid to answer that?

You're unreasonable. :idunno:
Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that. (Mark 7:13)

YOUR Catholic Church is the ROMAN Catholic Church which is not biblical.

Show me from the Bible or from historical facts that one of the bishops/overseers/apostles in the Bible approved of pedophilia going on still in the ROMAN Catholic Church right now and paid millions to cover it up. Just one example.

No! I believe what the Bible tells me and I do not need the ROMAN Catholic Church to teach me about the Triunity of God; He did that all on His own and left it all written down in His word.

But the Popes have never come out and condemn the kissing of statues, rosaries, bowing down to them, etc. have they? Oh, no, they simply extend their hands and expect the ring to be kissed.

Have you never seen in the Vatican catholics kneeling down and walking on their knees until they bleed?

Have you never seen the Popes' rings are kissed?

Have you never seen catholics bowing down to Popes? Or statues? Or lighting candles, etc.?

Does not the ROMAN Catholic Church teach that Peter is the first Pope? I though you knew your history.

Yes, because Paul was right and Peter confirmed that Paul was right.

Paul opposed Peter to his face, for what he did was very wrong.

And you know what is most incredible for me about Peter?
It is not that the ROMAN Catholic Church declares that he was the first Pope.

What is most incredible to me about Peter is that Peter humbled himself before Paul and accepted the reprimand publicly. Didn't say, 'Paul, here, kiss my ring, cause I'm the Pope.'

The idea of the infallibility of the pope was defined at the first Vatican Council in 1869.

The ROMAN Catholic Church teach that there is no salvation outside of the ROMAN Catholic Church. Where did any of the Apostles teach that?

You give too much credit to the RCC, Nihilo.

God does NOT need the RCC to tell Him who He is.
God left all that He wants us to know about Him written in the Bible.

Nonsense.

What an incredible liar you are, God's UNtruth.

The Bible does not say he feared God. He didn't humble himself. He didn't admit his sins. And he didn't "acknowledge Jesus before others". He merely ask the other thief if he wasn't worried since they both were guilty and deserved their sentence.

What he did do was BELIEVE Jesus would come into His kingdom.

Luke 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

What he did do was BELIEVE Jesus would come into His kingdom.

The one thief on the cross feared God; God’s salvation is near those who fear Him.

The thief on the cross believed Jesus; the work of God is to believe in the one He sent.

The thief on the cross humbled himself. God pleads with people to be humble or they will never enter.

The thief admitted his sins, this is confession; he also admitted he deserved his punishment, that is regret and repentance for his sin.

The thief on the cross confessed Jesus in front of others; Jesus says whoever acknowledges him before others, he will also acknowledge before his Father in heaven.

The thief also called on the name of the Lord, when he told Jesus to remember him when he got to his kingdom. The Bible says for us to call on the name of the Lord after repenting of our sins.

God knows our hearts, Acts 15:8.

The Bible says His salvation is near all those who fear him, see Psalm 85:9.

God says these are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word. See Isaiah 66:2.

We are to believe and confess, trust in God, call on the name of the Lord, See Romans 10:10, 11, and 13.

Matthew 10:32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!” Luke 23:39. But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Luke 23:40-43. Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Again, if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, then you had better be obeying Jesus.

Luke 6:46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Again, the thief on the cross feared God, humbled himself, admitted his sins, acknowledged Jesus before men, believed in his heart, and called on Jesus.
Both thieves on the cross believed in Jesus, but only one of the thieves obeyed.
One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!” Luke 23:39
We have to believe and obey Jesus to be saved. Jesus tells us what we have to do.
