If you need laws and rules to tell you how to love your fellow humans, you clearly don't know how to love your fellow humans.
The law exists because people reject God.
All those laws and rules are for those who do not recognize God's spirit within them.
God isn't within those who reject him.
Quit uttering new age nonsense.
For those who do, obedience and righteousness are no longer an issue.
What about for those who reject God?
He came to reveal to us that God's spirit dwells within us all.
No, He didn't, because God's spirit DOESN'T "dwell within us all."
And that if we will set our own fears and selfishness aside,
Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
Selflessness is a result of loving God and/or one's neighbor.
and become the embodiment of that spirit within,
The only spirit within those who reject God is their own.
You want people to become "the embodiment of that spirit within"?
I certainly don't.
we will be healed and saved from ourselves,
Wrong.
We cannot be healed apart from Christ's blood.
We cannot be saved apart from God's grace.
and can help to heal and save others.
Men cannot save other men from eternal damnation in hell. Only Christ alone.
It was a revelation that anyone of any religion, or of no religion, could understand, and try for themselves. And it still is.
False.
There is no race to run except to set aside our fear and selfishness and let that divine spirit within us, guide us.
False.
And there is no prize except that we fulfill our true purpose in this world and meet God within each other.
More new-age nonsense.
Sometimes it's difficult, especially when those around us are acting out of their own fear and selfishness like drowning men grasping at anything to stay afloat.
Such as yourself?
But that's where faith comes in. We do what we can and trust that it will be enough in the end.
The only guarantee of salvation is in Christ.
If they cannot see the love within themselves, perhaps they can see it within us, by how we treat them.
That only works if it's Christ within you. And He's clearly not.
Love is a way of being, not a dogma.
Too broad.
Love is a commitment to the good of someone.
Without it we are just dumb animals obeying the needs and the whims of our bodies. To become human, we have to rise above that, and realize that love transcends materialism.
In other words, anyone who doesn't love like you want them to is not human.
Talk about dehumanizing and belittling...
I don't know why they did those things. I suspect there were a lot of reasons, not the least of which was a genetic drive to dominate their fellow humans by the force of violence and viciousness. A genetic drive that exists in some people, even today.
Genes had nothing to do with the Spanish inquisition.
On the other hand, ending a pregnancy before it becomes "a baby" isn't nearly so heinous.
If a woman is pregnant, there's a 50% chance that it's a baby boy, and a 50% chance that it's a baby girl. There is 0% chance that it is something other than a human baby.
Denying reality leads to heinous statements like yours.
The problem with this obsession with self-righteousness
Says the one who is obsessed with his own self-righteousness...
is that it condemns everything that contradicts it, because it just can't allow itself to be wrong. Or even partly wrong.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
You cannot grasp that a fetus is not a baby.
Denying reality is not healthy, PureX.
It becomes a baby at some point,
A baby is conceived at conception. There's even a flash of light to signal the start of a new human life!
but to you that's not comprehensible.
Because it's false.
Because right is right and wrong is wrong and you must be right.
Abortion is
wrong because it's a
baby and it's always wrong to intentionally kill a baby and that's because children are made in
God's image and God
said, "Do not kill the innocent."
It should matter to you whether one is right or wrong, when it comes issues of morality.
