So tell me, were there bishops in the earliest Church? By the end of the 1st century, had the Church already pastors, and bishops, distinct hierarchically? Bishops oversaw, you're right. Episcopo. Oversight.

Apparently, you assume that academics and theologians possess some sort of doctrinal authority in the Catholic Church. They do not. Theologians have no more authority in the Church than any other layman. Their conclusions are entirely advisory, and carry no binding weight whatsoever. Try again.

There has ever been only ONE Christian Church, declared by Jesus Christ himself, and built up by the ordained leaders (apostles/bishops) that he appointed to guide and teach the faithful in his own name and by his very authority (Mt. 16:18-19/Is. 22:18-22; Mt. 28:18-20; Lk. 10:16; Ac. 16:4; 2 Thess. 3:4; 1 Tim. 3:15; 1 Jn. 4:6).
