...... ALL biblical church had a plurailty of elders ... Peter said
..... "Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder."
..... (1 Peter 5:1) ..

..... the word "bishop" is nothing more than
..... the KJV word for Overseer (elder) .... it has nothing to do with a person
...... supervising several churches as in catholicism ...

......... some examples ....

If a man desire the office of a BISHOP. (1 Timothy 3:1 KJV)
If any man aspires to the office of OVERSEER. (1 Timothy 3:1 NASV)

A BISHOP then must be blameless. (1 Timothy 3:2 KJV)
An OVERSEER, then, must be above reproach” (1 Timothy 3:2 NASV)

“For a BISHOP must be blameless …” (Titus 1:7 KJV)
“For the OVERSEER must be above reproach …” (Titus 1:7 NASV)

So tell me, were there bishops in the earliest Church? By the end of the 1st century, had the Church already pastors, and bishops, distinct hierarchically? Bishops oversaw, you're right. Episcopo. Oversight.

Apparently, you assume that academics and theologians possess some sort of doctrinal authority in the Catholic Church. They do not. Theologians have no more authority in the Church than any other layman. Their conclusions are entirely advisory, and carry no binding weight whatsoever. Try again.

Jesus declared that he would build ONE Church---not "churchES" (Mt. 16:18; cf. 1 Tim. 3:15). Try again.
Moses had a church (Acts 7:35 KJV)

The Lord said He would build His "My church" (Matthew 16:18 KJV)

We(saved individuals) are the church which is His Body (Ephesians 1:22-23 KJV)

That's three churches!

All of these years, "Catholics" have been trying to get into the wrong church!

There is only one church and it is the body of Christ. Christ was the rock in the desert.

1 Corinthians 10:4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.

Jesus went to Hell after he died on the cross. Jesus is the truth, the church that the gates of Hell could not keep in.

You are in a false denomination and you should desire to come out of her.

The very purpose of the papal forgeries (Donation of Constantine, Pseudo Isadorian Decreatals) was to create a history of popes that in reality never existed. There sole purpose was to rewrite history to give power & authority to the Roman bishops they never before possessed

There has ever been only ONE Christian Church, declared by Jesus Christ himself, and built up by the ordained leaders (apostles/bishops) that he appointed to guide and teach the faithful in his own name and by his very authority (Mt. 16:18-19/Is. 22:18-22; Mt. 28:18-20; Lk. 10:16; Ac. 16:4; 2 Thess. 3:4; 1 Tim. 3:15; 1 Jn. 4:6). You've naively bought into the latest Protestant doctrinal fad. Don't worry, another one will come along soon enough to replace it. Sorry for your confusion.
