Sad News: Calvinist Ministers Can't Preach the Gospel that Christ Preached

Christ's earthly ministry was to the lost sheep of the House of Israel. He and his Disciples/Apostles preached the "Kingdom Gospel." That message related to a future time when Christ will return to earth and reign on the throne of David over His people, Israel. Christ chose Paul to preach a separate Gospel (The Grace Gospel) to the Gentiles. Today, the Grace Gospel includes both Jew and Gentile alike. Today, there is no Kingdom Gospel, just the Grace Gospel. It is offered to anyone hearing the Gospel and placing all their faith in Christ alone for their salvation and eternal life, etc.

I don't think Paul preached a gospel different from the gospel that Christ preached.

Romans 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:14 For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:

And Paul cautioned against the preaching of another gospel:

Galatians 1:7-8 . . . but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

In the gospel that Christ preached, He called people to repent:

KJV Mark 1:14-15 14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

The call to repent is the same call God issued in the OT:

NKJ Ezekiel 18:30 " Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways," says the Lord GOD. "Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.

And Paul preached that God now commands all people to repent:

NKJ Acts 17:30 "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent

Repentance (Greek metanoia) is a change of mind for that which is good. Instead of doing evil, do good. IOW, overcome evil with good (Rom 12:21). Overcomers will Christ NOT blot out from the book of life and will be seated with Christ in His throne even as He also overcame and sat down with the Father in His throne (Rev 3:5, 21). Those not blotted out will be allowed entry into the heavenly portals (Rev 21:27); all blotted out will have their portion in the lake of fire (Rev 20:15).

God does not "ask" persons to repent; He commands all men to repent.

But none are willing or able to obey that command, because they are dead in sin.

By God's grace alone, they must first be resurrected to new spiritual life (John 3:1-8) and then granted the capacity to believe and repent.

Regeneration precedes faith and obedience.

Well said, sister.

Of course, God commands people, all men everywhere, having EMPOWERED them all.

But none are willing or able to obey that command, because they are dead in sin.
And when did they die in sin? Born dead in sin as Calvinism teaches? Where's the Scripture saying people are born dead in sin? Adam started out able to NOT sin, but he chose to sin. So with us. God made people upright, but they chose to disobey Him. see Eccl 7:29.

By God's grace alone, they must first be resurrected to new spiritual life (John 3:1-8) and then granted the capacity to believe and repent.
All died when Christ died (2 Cor 5:14, 15; Heb 2:9), resurrected and made alive TOGETHER with Him (Eph 2:4-6; Col 2:13), born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus (1 Pet 1:3).

Regeneration precedes faith and obedience.
People are born in Christ, our Strength for overcoming evil with good, hence people can believe and overcome the evil of unbelief; they can obey and overcome the evil of disobedience. IOW, they are capable of repenting. Hence, God commands them to repent - to overcome evil with good. Those who overcome evil with good, Christ will NOT blot out from the book of life (Rev 3:5). All NOT blotted out will be allowed entry into the heavenly portals (Rev 21:27); all blotted out will have their portion in the lake of fire (Rev 20:15).

Anti-Calvinists treat God as a beggar who can only fulfill what He wills if it's cosigned by willing people. If God bargains, it's to make a point that you are wrong :chuckle:
Something to take notice to in scripture.

Well, that's YOUR opinion and you're welcome to it.
Thanks. But not simply my opinion. I provided Scriptural basis. Here again:

Romans 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:14 For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:

The gospel that Paul preached is the gospel of Christ.

God now COMMANDS all people everywhere - and that includes all Calvinists - to repent (Acts 17:30). That makes God a COMMANDER, not a beggar.

And, just like all others, Calvinists MUST repent OR perish. see Luke 13:3, 5.

One thing I notice about some people, especially you and Robert Pate, is that you all run with your own imagination of what Calvinism is and outright refuse to acknowledge that you argue on a false basis altogether.

Right now, you are sitting here with this garbage claim that Calvinists do not hold to repentance, or that predestination somehow omits it. That is not how it works by even the most dubious understanding of Calvinism, and yet there IS NO TELLING YOU OTHERWISE.
You're a theological troll, and nothing else.

Well, thanks for calling me a theological troll. That's better than being a SCRIPTURAL TROLL, you see.

Christ taught through the parables of the lost that people start out NOT lost. see Luke 15. And to be NOT lost is to be in Christ. But you teach people are born dead in sin, hence born lost.

I guess, only a scriptural troll is able to continually teach against what Christ Himself taught despite being told innumerable times.
