Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died

Fox has live streams. That means live not censored live. Give me a break.

I was watching straight feeds from the helicopters and from eyewitnesses on the ground. That's live. Not filtered through Fox's talking heads.

Time magazine is a pitiful source for news.

Get beyond the title of the magazine and look at the SOURCE of the information they're providing. And then tell me if you think it's pitiful. I know the info doesn't confirm many people's biases here, but it's information funded by the State Dept. Did you not see that?

U.S.-based ACLED is funded by the State Department’s Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations as well as foreign governments and other organizations, including the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the German Federal Foreign Office, the Tableau Foundation, the International Organization for Migration, and The University of Texas at Austin. It relied on data collection from the U.S. Crisis Monitor—a joint project led by ACLED and Princeton University’s Bridging Divides Initiative—that tracks and publishes real-time data on political violence and demonstrations in the U.S in order to “establish an evidence base from which to identify risks, hotspots and available resources to empower local communities in times of crisis.”

He was legally within his rights to open carry. The 2nd Amendment is an important Constitutional provision to me. A President Biden with his gun confiscation agenda is not desirable to me.

He is NOT you or your wife, is he? Would you care to clarify that's not at all what I said?

And we were told for 8 years that President Obama was coming for our guns. And he never did. Neither will Biden.

The thing is Lon, the whole reason that orange balloon came about is because of how Trump acted and I'm not going to deny that I found it funny and apt. There used to be a satirical show in the UK called "Spitting Image" that used unflattering puppets and it was as subversive as it got and took no prisoners where it came to politics, celebrity culture etc. It didn't play favourites whatsoever and I'm glad to say, it's coming back!

Just saw the Donald Trump puppet earlier this evening. :rotfl:

Trump belittles and demeans anyone and everyone who gets in the way of his ego. The free voice of the people puncturing holes in his ego is appropriate. And hilarious. :chuckle:

He is the epitome of evil and deserves to be tried for 1st Degree Murder for contributing to the deaths of over 200,000 Americans via CV. He was on tape admitting to Bob Woodward how deadly the coronavirus is and he played it down which is why so many deaths occurred.

He absolutely does, and frankly he's not the only one but certainly one of the worst. We have a second wave of this virus in play and measures in place whereby no more than six can congregate in any given place except if they're shooting grouse or hunting over here. Boris Johnson and associated are a total joke as well, just one's without a punchline.

And then had the "audacity" to claim that he'd actually "up-played" it in an interview...

One thing I loved about "Spitting Image" was that it was just so flat out against "political correctness" and always topical. It didn't always hit the mark but when it did it was hysterical.

Are you really that dumb to believe that lie which Biden told? By the time when Trump knew about the virus thousand of people in the USA had already contacted the China Virus and at at time there was no known treatment. And it was Trump who put the travel ban from China in effect, at the same time he was having to deal with the idiots Biden and Pelosi who were saying that they was nothing to fear. Or perhaps you forgot that Pelosi told everyone to come on down to Chinatown for a big party and that Biden accused President Trump of xenophobia because of the travel ban?

Biden also said that Trump is responsible for all the China Virus deaths, and “I’m not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data.”

However, news outlets pushed back on Biden’s claim, including The Washington Post, a liberal newpaper, who wrote, “Actually, Biden is making this up. There is no data to support this, even if the president had moved rapidly in January to deal with the coronavirus and been able to persuade the Chinese leadership to be more forthcoming about the situation.”

The Post also notes that even countries that have been praised for their coronavirus response have had deaths due to the virus.

Biden knows that many of his loyal followers will not hesitate to spread his lies and here you are spreading his lies.

You are probably proud of it, too!

Have you given up your false narrative that your "contentious" interactions with me and others are "in the past, none of which you wish to revisit?"

Pointing out the obvious - that you are insane - is not "contentious" anna.

And it's not surprising to see that you're an apologist for rioting and arson and murder and looting, having discovered last week that you're an apologist for sexual child exploitation.

It is because it's lie.

More lies. But what else can be expected from a manipulative sociopath?

if you linked to it, Saved.One.by.Grace could see it in context and make up his own mind instead of having it poisoned by you

ah - here it is:

No. There is no glorification of sexualization, as I said. Nothing in the film gives approval to it.

It's about a young girl struggling with the allure of wanting to fit in with the cool kids as she processes her own adolescence in a world that is too quick to make girls grow up (equally aware that traditional societies can be just as quick to make girls grow up). The audience in the movie doesn't approve, her family doesn't approve, her cool friends think she goes too far, she has her epiphany and leaves the dance performance, runs back to her mother and goes out to skip rope. The movie shows the way girls often behave today, and yes we should be concerned about what pressures girls (kids) face today particularly from social media which has made everything more difficult and amplifies the ramifications. But this movie is not pornography and saying so does a disservice to actual child pornography.

No we haven't. You're just out of ammo and forced to call for reinforcements.

Here's a calm, rational, non-hysteria-driven conversation about the movie:

How Cuties, a French movie on Netflix, became part of America’s culture war

I think a lot of this has been cycling through QAnon channels, so the hysteria seems a likely result, with a breathless "we have arrived" boosting it along.

The balloon, however, wasn't flown for satire, it was flown after his inauguration.

I suppose the humor is a bit like the stooges, I'm not terribly fond of mean-spirited imitation.

Saturday Night Live does imitation sometimes that is flattering, and other times for mean-spirited political comment.

This one is in good taste:

RBG-06.jpg

In her 2015 biography, The Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, author Irin Carmon notes that Ginsburg “likes to quote the opening words of the Constitution: ‘We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union.’ Beautiful, yes, but as she always points out, ‘we the people’ originally left out a lot of people. ‘It would not include me,’ RBG said, or enslaved people, or Native Americans. Over the course of the centuries, people left out of the Constitution fought to have their humanity recognized by it. RBG sees that struggle as her life’s work.”
