Limiting the Death of Christ

Again, you fail to understand terms. The word "reconciled" καταλλάσσω is an accounting term. God was propitiated and reconciled to man by the death of His Son. Man had a debt He could not pay, and Jesus paid a debt He did not owe. The sin issue was finished at the cross. No more debt owed. ALL men were reconciled to God. However, all men are still dead, until they receive His life. In order to receive His life, man must accept the reconciliation. In other words, God removed the debt from his ledger, now each man must accept the debt paid "be reconciled to God" by believing in Christ's once for all sacrifice for their sin.

Here is what the apostle Paul says about this reconciliation.

"Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God." 2 Cor 5:18-20

There is no reason for Paul to implore anyone to do what they have no choice not to do. Every individual man is implored to "be reconciled", that is to accept Christ's payment for their debt. In doing so, then they will receive His life, and it is His life that saves them, not having the debt paid. They are not saved by His death, but by His life. Not everyone chooses to accept the reconciliation, so they remain dead, never to have His life.

Im going to ask you once again:

Ok. Whats the promise made to them who were reconciled to God, by Christs death, when they were enemies ? Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Answered as many times as you've asked. Until you learn how to read the Bible you will forever keep asking the same questions. I can't make you think. I can only continue telling you the truth. You are simply CHOOSING to not believe it.

Jesus reconciled ALL men by His once for all sacrifice for sin. (ALL sin of ALL men)
The apostle Paul and others (ambassadors) preach that ALL have been reconciled.
They implore others to be reconciled by accepting the reconciliation.
Many (most) refuse to be reconciled.
Those who accept the reconciliation are then saved by His life.

Absolute proof that no one is saved by His death, but by receiving His life.

You are without excuse for believing otherwise.

It has. Every single time. You are a liar, just like your father.

No it hasnt been answered, its been evaded. Does anyone want to answer the question:

Exactly Sister. Eph 2:1,5

And you hath he quickened[made alive], who were dead in trespasses and sins;

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened[made alive] us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

As you can see here saved here is having been made alive. This I believe coincides with 1 Pet 1:3

So True Brother, because all the Elect Eph. 1:3-4, those Christ died and rose again for [His Seed; His Body] had a Union with Him before the foundation, and so it also bears evidence of them being in union with Christ in His Resurrection from the dead 1 Pet. 1:3, which is their own Spiritual resurrection, or their being Begotten Again experimentally; being Born Again by means of it.

Those who teach that Christ died for all men without exception

He did! Christ died for all men without exception.

and yet, all men without exception will not be saved

That is because some will choose evil and reject the free gift Christ has offered them.

they do limit the death of Christ in a horrible way. They limit the efficacious power of it

Nonsense.

They testify thereby that the death of Christ in and of itself doesn't in fact, save anyone

LOL. That's just dumb. Jesus died for all, but He does not force people to accept Him and repent. In fact He "tells" people to repent over and over, If there was no choice involved then asking people to repent would not be necessary, or maybe you had not thought of that.

QUOTE: "The Choice Is Ours" - What the Calvinist misses is clear throughout the Bible. Man is truly free and God calls him to freely choose to serve or not to serve the Lord. From the famous Old Testament charge of Joshua to “choose this day whom you will serve . . . but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord,” (Jo 24:15) to the very words of Jesus Christ himself, “If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink” (Jn 7:37), man’s freedom to choose to obey or disobey the will of God for salvation is absolutely central to the teachings of Sacred Scripture... ...Paul clearly teaches all men must freely cooperate with God’s grace to be saved. For example, look at Romans 2:6-8: “[God] will render to every man according to his works: To those who by patience in well-doing [good works] seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life, but for those who . . . do not obey the truth . . . there will be wrath and fury.”

Or try Romans 11:22: “Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off.”

In Romans 6:16, Paul makes clear that we must continue to obey to attain final justification: “Do you not know that if you yield yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?” (Gk. justification).

Indeed, Jesus himself could not be any clearer in Matthew 23:37: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!”

As God, Jesus clearly desired to gather his children, Israel, but they would not. If the Calvinist view of predestination were true, God never willed to gather them at all. Jesus got it wrong here. If he truly willed to gather them, they would have been gathered!

sound Gospel

I just gave it to you.

Christ's death forgives all sins to those who have faith, repent, and amend their lives.

Correct.

Answered at least a half dozen times. You don't like the answer (truth) so you are now going to stomp your feet and whine like Hillary Clinton.

Exactly, it states it right therein the verse ! Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

The we shall be saved in the greek is σωθησόμεθα future passive indicative

The future:

Corresponds to the English future, and indicates the contemplated or certain occurrence of an event which has not yet occurred.

passive:

Represents the subject as being the recipient of the action. e.g., in the sentence, "we were comforted" the subject "we" receives the action.

indicative:

Is a simple statement of fact. If an action really occurs or has occurred or will occur, it will be rendered in the indicative mood.

So God promises that those who as enemies were reconciled to Him by His Sons Death, will yet experience a future saving by His Life. This means they will be saved from being enemies, unbelievers, and it ensures all of eternal salvation to be experienced by them. This ensures the security of the ones Christ died for, and of course rose again for.

Exactly Brother ! And also as a result of this Saving experimentally carried out by the Holy Spirit Titus 3:5, is ensured by the Ever Living intercession of Christ Heb. 7:25 for all whom He died and reconciled to God, up to the end of the age; a guarantee as long as Christ Liveth !

LOL, sorry, but no such thing as TWO salvations. However, seeing that Calvin taught a false Jesus with two natures, two wills, and two minds, it's consistent for you to teach two salvations. :loser: :chuckle:

You don't think that Jesus had two natures?

He is God in the flesh. Hebrews 1:3

I believe Knight started a post called "Who died on the cross". Perhaps it is still available. I explain all of this in that thread.

btw... R.C. Sproul clearly stated that God did not die for our sins. He claims that Jesus was not God, when he died. This is born out of the two nature heresy.
