Herd immunity didn't have anything whatsoever to do with how light your symptoms were. That isn't what herd immunity does - at all. Herd immunity simply prevents the virus from being able to spread. If 80% of the people are immune then only one if five people can even get the disease to start with and can then only spread it to one in five of those he comes in contact with while contagious. That's all herd immunity is about. It has no effect on the symptoms it produces in those non-imunune persons that it does manage to find.
Also, you have no scientific evidence that you are "now more immune from covid than any vaccine can make you". There just is any science to support such a claim. Not that I've seen anywhere anyway and, of all the people participating in this thread, I'm the one who's actually looked. In fact, if you had it a year ago, you may be far less immune to it than anyone who has received the vaccine. As I've said to you perhaps a dozen times already, the immunity to this virus is almost certainly not permanent. Immunity from other extremely similar corona viruses looks like it lasts for years in some people but the point is that you are making claims that you have no scientific basis for.

Herd immunity is effective, which is why I believe communities that did not take extreme measures to prevent the spread of covid sped up the helpful process of herd immunity. Science cannot prove I am immune from covid after having been infected, but science can also not prove vaccines make people immune from covid, especially since some vaccinated individuals have gotten covid after being vaccinated and some have even died from covid after receiving the vaccination.
