Are you talking of a different Jacob?
I thought I heard my voice.
Are you talking of a different Jacob?
In Jeremiah 31 the new covenant is said to be made specifically with the “house of Israel and the house of Judah.”
How do Christians partake in this covenant? What are you thoughts?
Are Christians "grafted in" to Israel? If so, can a Christian consider him/herself to be a member of the house of Israel and expect all the promises made to Israel?
If you think Christians are partakers of the New Covenant, but still think there are special specific promises that only ethnic Israel is privy to, what is your reasoning?
I smell some replacement theology there from a Jew who ain't you!
Crucifer, do you love the Jews? You all seem to have an obsession with the Jews.
It's like you've never stepped into a proper church before.
They were in the land. I don't see how they didn't. Those who rejected don't matter. This may be about the work of Messiah, and His work was glorious.
Ummm...the wife/the people were “put away” and finally the marriage contract was abolished when they killed the husband...got it?
I will believe Paul when he answered his own question regarding whether or not Israel was cast away--God forbid!

Oh me too me too...Luke writes in the book of Acts how thousands and thousands of jews believed and were grafted back into the tree eager to please Him by faith and then works...works quite familiar to them already yes?
Christians are not grafted into Israel, we are grafted into the promises made to Abraham .... inherit the earth. (Gen 13:14-17, Psa 37, Matt 5:5, Rom 4:13, Gal 3:26-29)In Jeremiah 31 the new covenant is said to be made specifically with the “house of Israel and the house of Judah.”

The Scriptures are ripe with prophecies directed to ethnic Israel. Ethnic Israel , of all 12 tribes, those that survive the 2nd coming of Christ, will be gathered from EVERY nation and brought to their homeland, where they will be tested/purged/judged .... and those that accept Jesus will get to enter the land, those that won't are slain.AtT said:If you think Christians are partakers of the New Covenant, but still think there are special specific promises that only ethnic Israel is privy to, what is your reasoning?

So that's a no.Why should I be concerned with any specific people that are indifferent to myself? I don't have an obligation to cater to them.
So that's a no.
Do you love asians? Hispanics? Germans? Nords? Africans?
Uh uh. No. You answer my question first.Do you love Muslims?
Uh uh. No. You answer my question first.
So do you love those peoples?I'm not getting dragged down into your red herring. If that's what you have to do to convince someone they should give special care to the Jews then that's all the more reason to continue not even worrying about them.

Under the New Covenant "all" those belonging to the house of Judah and the house of Israel will have their sins forgiven and in the following verse the Apostle Peter tells us exactly how one's sins are forgiven:
"All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name" (Acts 10:43).
There has never been a time in history when all those belonging to the house of Judah and the house of Israel believed in the Lord Jesus and had their sins forgiven so the New Covenant promised to both of those houses has not yet been fulfilled.
Obviously not. Do you see the point?Incorrect. When it says that all Israel will be saved does it mean everyone who is of Israel who has ever existed or who exists now will be saved? Do you see the point?
Obviously not. Do you see the point?
I have no idea what your point is because you are illogical at every turn.My point or what point? If you read the New Testament you will see the marvelous work that God accomplished in and through Jesus in relation to the New Covenant.
I have no idea what your point is because you are illogical at every turn.
My point was that there is no reason to believe that "all Israel" in Jeremiah 31 refers to every Israelite that every lived.
In scripture we are given many examples of unbelieving Israel.
