Is America great?

I am also a disabled veteran who joined the special forces to save oppressed people's lives as I was raised watching John Wayne films and the like with my father. Now however that I realize the extent of our bloody hands I will will fight this scourge with my last breath. We can either embrace the truth or run and hide. For me there is no choice, JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

I found myself headed for Rawlins Penitentiary in Wyoming after I applied for a conscientious objector during the Viet Nam war.

I had friends who died there, friends who came back and friends that showed me pictures of the necklaces of Viet Cong fingers, ears and women's breasts around their necks. And smiling.

War is no good.

Okay, now pretend that most of your audience doesn't speak Spanish. Because otherwise we might as well be trading PMs.

That's awful, but it doesn't actually do what I asked, which was to show that the U.S. is promoting promiscuity and how. You might as well say the U.S. is causing lung cancer there and then, as proof, offer statistics on how many people die from it. Okay, there's a teenage promiscuity problem in another country. How is the U.S. responsible again?

This link has nothing to do with teenage promiscuity, though it was an interesting discussion of all sorts of problems and legal issues and how they're dealt with. I stopped about three fourths of the way through.

El embarazo en las adolescentes es un problema de reconocida trascendencia.
That says teenage pregnancy is an important problem.

That's a Unicef link addressing the problem, ages and lack of education, etc. Doesn't really address my inquiry either, of how the U.S. government is promoting promiscuity.

Embajador de EE.UU. deplora RD cierre las puertas al turismo gay

The U.S. ambassador is unhappy over the Dominican Republic's closed door policy with homosexuals?

So you're leaving the promiscuity issue without really ever making a causal connection. Since I wanted to begin with that issue before moving on I'll truncate the rest and hope you have that linkage or some rationale/argument to act as it.

1. What the US isn't telling countries is that their only EFFECTIVE method for controlling teen promiscuity is a sex education program that removes all rights of the parents to include handing out condoms and legalizing convenience abortions. Kids will be taught to have sex at an early age and masturbate with their friends and watch pornography.

2. Once they have their foot in the door to allow for revamping of a Christian oriented sex education they will push for sexual orientation equality to be included.

3. The US also doesn't tell countries since sexual education started in the 60's the teen promiscuity rate has increased from 5% to 50% among high school students.

4. Ambassador Brewster is promoting Gay tourism where perverts are enticed to come from the US and Europe to have sex with our young men. Furthermore, he said the economic value of the tourism is 1.4 billion dollars, which is quite significant for a poor country.

Those who promote abortion and perverted sex education like the UN and the US conspicuously don't tell poor countries the increased cost of legal enforcement as the family structure is forcefully broken down by removing parent's rights to raise their children. Youths are therefore risen as pluralists as the state cannot impart values effectively. Children in this type of society have little value and are seen as an inconvenience and of course this foments delinquency.

Still waiting for you to demonstrate how the U.S. is promoting promiscuity. Are you saying our government is forcing the DR to run a program of sex education? Then why isn't the U.S. forcing the DR to run abortion mills?

Or, first demonstrate us doing the first then explain how you can resist the U.S. policy on abortion but cannot help yourselves in relation to how sex education is taught.

Kids will be taught to have sex at an early age and masturbate with their friends and watch pornography.
First demonstrate that as a U.S. policy and program and then explain how you can resist the U.S. position on abortion but not on sex education. And if that program isn't in place and we know promiscuity is and has been a problem for the DR, how is that remotely the fault of the U.S. government again?

2. Once they have their foot in the door to allow for revamping of a Christian oriented sex education they will push for sexual orientation equality to be included.
So that's a will, as in hasn't, as in your charge is specious and part of that Anti American problem I noted. We don't then actually promote promiscuity in the DR. You're just sure we will?

3. The US also doesn't tell countries since sexual education started in the 60's the teen promiscuity rate has increased from 5% to 50% among high school students.
You know what else began with the 60s? The sexual revolution and a dramatic shift in how we viewed sexuality in our country. That said, we've seen a decline in teen pregnancies over the past twenty years, by about half. So education is having an impact here.

4. Ambassador Brewster is promoting Gay tourism where perverts are enticed to come from the US and Europe to have sex with our young men. Furthermore, he said the economic value of the tourism is 1.4 billion dollars, which is quite significant for a poor country.
I'm sure it is, but unless the U.S. is actively sanctioning rape I don't think tourists are the problem and I really want to nail down the teenage promiscuity before we move into other areas.

I don't remember where I said forcing. It is coercing through promise of aid, etc.

Promoting removing the rights of the parents and telling children their parents have no rights to comment on their sex life and to have all the sex they want IS promoting promiscuity. If you have any doubts you can review the US policies on promoting abortion and sex education I recommend you research sexual education in the US and what is promoted by the UN.

BTW, I gave you links from official webpages that speak of the "problems" of teen pregnancy and you can do the research yourself as for the proposed "solutions", which I conveniently summarized for you. You don't have to believe me and that is your decision. A person who follows Christ should be more interested in the truth as opposed to attempting to undermine an argument because he can.

There are many great things about the US. There are many things I think could improve. My opinion of the balance can be summed up by saying the wife and I have been considering moving elsewhere seriously and plans are slowly and meticulously being made.

I wasn't being literal, but noting that if the DR can balk on the U.S. attitude toward abortion it is then as capable of doing so in any particular and culpable where it doesn't and a harm ensues.

Promoting removing the rights of the parents and telling children their parents have no rights to comment on their sex life and to have all the sex they want IS promoting promiscuity.
Right. Demonstrate the U.S. doing that as a part of any program within the DR. It just seems the more you're pressed the more this becomes something else.

And a lot of what you were speaking of was in the speculative future, but the DR's problems are rather current when it comes to teenagers.

If you have any doubts you can review the US policies on promoting abortion and sex education I recommend you research sexual education in the US and what is promoted by the UN.
That's a very different thing from promoting teenage promiscuity within the DR.

You provided links that didn't address your charge against the U.S. The first one covered a great deal of unrelated ground. I commented on each.

You don't have to believe me and that is your decision.
I believe you have a problem with the U.S. I believe you have concerns, some of which I share...I know you made a series of charges and that you haven't sustained the first one I looked at.

A person who follows Christ should be more interested in the truth as opposed to attempting to undermine an argument because he can.
A person who can't sustain a charge with facts that make the case should consider the possibility that he's over reaching. I've spoken the truth. When you can cull the desire to over reach and make measured, factual claims and not resort to hyperbole and speculation on future events as currently assignable blame you can lecture me on the value of the truth. My faith isn't something you're a fit judge of, nor I of yours. That's above our pay grade.

Amen sir, and thank you for all of your sacrifice for our nation, that unfortunately seems to be a thankless one. My prayer is that we remedy that for all of our brave men and women like yourself who sacrificed sooo much.

God bless you.

New Zealand has always been a place of interest to us. We've also considered various Scandanavian countries. This may never come to fruition, as both my wife and I are fairly attached to our parents, but our primary concern is raising our children in what we consider the best way possible. Part of that, in our opinion, is letting them see the world to experience different cultures. That would be dramatically easier in Europe. If money were no object, I'd move us tomorrow.

Does anyone else think brinny should just start a "Brinny Thanks" thread? Or is this a burial detail, per chance?

Burying dissent under an avalanche of good will posts. :) There was another poster here that would do that...I can't recall who for some reason. But you'd put out an argument and they'd try to bury it under one sentence thanks and dismissals, etc. I wasn't seriously aiming that with you. Just adding :noid: note.

Nah, I like good will, especially when people disagree. That's why I rep'd you. I don't have to agree with a person to find something to appreciate about them.
