How Jesus Justifies the Ungodly, Romans 4:5.

Catholics and other holiness religions hate Romans 4:5. Ungodly sinners love it.

"But to him that does NO WORKS, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" Romans 4:5.

The word "Justify" is the key to understanding this scripture.

JUSTIFY: 1. To show to be just, right, or reasonable; vindicate. 2. To declare guiltless; absolve.

Paul wrote, "Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 5:1.

The reason that we have peace with God is because this is how God wants us to be saved. Faith not works or obedience is what justifies the ungodly and gives us peace with God. Not works, not obedience, not religion, faith and faith alone, gives us peace with God. Does God give us faith to believe? We are all born with the human attribute of faith. As children we have faith in our parents, this same faith is activated when we hear and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ and become born again.

Peter wrote, "Being born again, not of corruptible seed (Adam) but of incorruptible (Christ), by the word of God (the Gospel) which lives and abides forever" 1 Peter 1:23.

Jesus is the justifier, Jesus is the one that makes us right with God and justifies us. A justifier is one that acts on behalf of another. "To declare, I say, at this time HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS: that he might be just and the JUSTIFIER of him that believes in Jesus" Romans 3:26. Jesus as our substitute and representative, fulfills all of the demands of God's holy law. He does this in our name and on our behalf for our justification.

That was not enough, something must be done about our sins and the sins of the whole world. The resounding message of the New Testament is that Jesus is Lord. Jesus is Lord because he has victoriously defeated sin, death and the Devil, Colossians 2:15. Proof of this is that God accepted Jesus back into heaven and has made him both Lord and Christ, Acts 2:36. When God accepted Jesus back into heaven we were accepted in him, perfect and complete in Christ, Colossians 2:10.

The law has been fulfilled. Sin has been atoned for. Its over, its finished. Jesus has justified the ungodly by doing for them that which they cannot do for themselves, because they are sinners. Because of the doing and dying of Jesus we can now stand before God's holy court as justified.

All the scriptures that say 'believe' and 'faith'---those scriptures do NOT nullify the scriptures that say to obey.

Paul taught to believe and obey.

Acts 17:30; Acts 20:21, Acts 26:20, 2 Corinthians 12:21.

Was Jesus ever under the law? Was he ever under condemnation?

Jesus was born under the Law and suffered the condemnation of God on the cross. . . in the stead of His Elect.

His death was substitutional and penal.

You think that scripture contradicts scripture.

Obey or works, means to be under the law. You are under the law and will be judged by the law.

Christians are justified by faith without the works of the law.

The sins of the world have been atoned for, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 4:14, John 12:47, Hebrews 2:9, plus many others.

Those that do not have faith that Jesus atoned for the sins of the whole world will perish. Jesus is Lord, whether you believe it or not.

Atonement is not the issue, salvation is the issue. You claimed that being born under the law is condemnation, but that is not what Paul said. It's obvious that being born under the law is not sin, and sin is what brings condemnation. The Father's atonement through Jesus' blood provides us an opportunity for the remittance of sin, i.e. payment due.

Your claim there is no law promotes Satan's pawn shop where people are redeemed from sin and then go back in hock rather than stay clean.

Recidivism.

And once justified...what do we wish to do...what does the Spirit assist us in doing?

That's wonderful, but how does that help us? Salvation is not of the law.

You seem to go on and on about the law, why?

Salvation is also not just of faith/belief for even Satan believes in Him, that He is the Savior, Son of God, His DBR...

Yet something still is lacking...

Satan does not believe that the work of Christ was for him. All that make this Gospel theirs by faith, have eternal life.

Everyone is born under the law and are lost, until they receive Christ as their savior.

The believer is not under the law, simply because Jesus has met all of the demands of the law by his life, death and resurrection. Paul said, "You are complete in him" Colossians 2:10.

You forget the Holy Spirit moved Yahushua into the desert that He might be tempted by Satan...

that by his temptations Satan proved it was not by faith alone...but obedience to His Father...

Ummm...right and exactly...we are created in Him UNTO GOOD WORKS...see? Not faith alone...THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM...even as He did and asked us to do...not to be saved but because we are saved...we want to be/do MORE like not less Him His way...

Of course. In Jesus Christ we have been justified, sanctified and redeemed, now act like it.
