Has to be a Southern thing:
I wonder if you could find the South with a compass. lain: Read that part to my wife, who did her undergraduate and Masters work at Alabama and she asked, "Has he ever actually visited the South and does he know it's not mostly plantations and spiritual singing in between the games?"It's the plaid and checkered suits, and other weird suits you southerners seem to have an infatuation with that separates you from everyone else.
People in the north just don't dress like this:
You can find ridiculously dressed fans having fun with their school colors or mascots just about anywhere.

Outside of game days and golf courses you really don't see a lot of it, though why that's worse or some sort of singular litmus for the absurd is anyone's guess.I know, but when it comes to checkered and plaid sport coats, you guys are in a league of your own.
Ask her if she had an undergrad major or concentration. I had a concentration. If she knows why I asked she'll know what it means. And tell her I followed it with "____ B.U.!"Showed my wife, who did her undergraduate and JD work in Massachusetts, those suits, and she said she never saw suits like that in New England. :chuckle:

Because you couldn't get that sort of garish out of a Boston sports fan, to narrow it a bit, could you...
No, it was just me playing a hunch. If you go to a particular school in New England that would trigger an answer. Not to worry. The "___B.U.!" line would have likely made sense too. Just curious. She said double major. She doesn't know why. Is a concentration like a minor? What about a specialization, is that easier or harder than a concentration?
Which is worse why again? :chuckle:No checkered or plaid sport coats.

Let's not forget whom cursed the sports world with that stupid towel waving.

It does. She did her undergrad at Simmons College in Boston, and then went to Boston University School of Law.
Does your "____B.U.!" refer to Boston University?
Oh no...now you've done it. lain:Let's not forget whom cursed the sports world with that stupid towel waving.
Oh no...
No, they played a darn good game, but we had the ball on their five and took a knee or you could add seven to our total.Alabama squeaked out a win. Peyton Manning on the Tennessee sideline must have spooked them.

No dropped passes by a normally sure handed db and we likely have two more tds going the other way. That was only after the fumble. No fumble, and Tennessee could have drove for the winning score.
You're always losing until you aren't. They played well, but we helped keep them in it. That's Alabama's weakness this year. You could as easily have said we were winning until Tennessee made a valiant drive and then we did what we had to do, which is also what Bama tends to do.The Tide was losing with 3:00 left in the game.
You may have watched it, but if that's what you took away you weren't seeing it. A good SEC team played up to their potential and a better team didn't, but still managed to win the thing.Alabama was very fortunate to win the game. Don't pretend they weren't. I watched it.
