Socialists are not communists. My friend Sam has also been to the Soviet Union and he is the most staunch republican I know. And not everything other governments do is wrong. Sometimes they get things right that we don't. And we can learn from them.
Sanders also marched with the civil rights protesters in the 60s. He also had the courage and insight to vote against the Iraq war when almost no one else in the Congress or the Senate, did. And even now, he is the only candidate in all of Washington willing to speak out about the corruption of government by the wealthy elite, through campaign financing, through paid bagmen called lobbyists, and through after-office patronage jobs. Every other candidate has taken the bribe money hand-over-fist and then stays silent about it.
Vote for who you want, but keep in mind she is taking the bribe money just as fast as the big banks, oil companies, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and every other corporate conglomerate gives it to her. And if she's elected, they will demand their pound of her political flesh, in return. Just as they did her husband. And she will give it to them, just as her husband did.

These are all quotes from the US President who was responsible for what is clearly the largest and most successful socialist achievement of all time. One that literally lifted the country out of the mud and paved the way for the greatest economic up welling in history.
Socialism is an intrinsic and inseparable appurtenance to democracy. Without it there would be no police, fire fighters, roads or infrastructure of any kind.
