The second one is just your dumb, anti-Catholic assertion of what idolatry is. The Bible does not speak upon it, it speaks upon the first.
Common sense dictates that praying toward a statue of Mary is praying to Mary.

Show the second type of idolatry practiced or taught in the Bible as approved by God - thus not idolatry at all - and you'll be well on your way to really winning the argument. Until then...no, you're defending idolatry and witchcraft.
