Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

On the contrary, I do not dispute that Paul is talking ABOUT the Jews. No, glorydaz! Read it for yourself. Paul is referencing Israel in the third person, throughout those chapters. He's talking TO his audience ABOUT Israel. So when we read Romans 10:9-10 and it's NOT in the third person then...

How does one determine, using the scientific method, that the earth is billions of years old?

The best thing about Bob's lists is that they aren't going to be what one would typically expect from an overtly Christian website. Typically, what you get from Christian websites is really sort of half-baked, severely dumbed down and sort of hokey presentations that are intended for members of...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

The problem is that saying it doesn't make it so, glorydaz! Paul was speaking of Israel in the third person. That single point alone is sufficient to prove that Israel was NOT Paul's audience. Being spoken about is just not the same as being spoken to. The rest of what you said is a collection...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Yes, you were. Repeating your position does nothing to establish it, glorydaz. I at least understand now the line of thinking that produces this idea that Paul was teaching the Jews but it doesn't fit with the rest of Romans. Like I pointed out in a previous post, Romans 9 comes right after...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Paul was a Jew and he was the charter member! Of course! No one suggested otherwise. The whole point of saying such a thing is that it's the same God, the same Jesus, the same death, burial and resurrection of the same Lamb of God (i.e. the same sacrifice for sin). The vast majority of...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

This sort of stupidity lands most people on my ignore list. It's an article that happens to contain the author's version of an outline of those chapters of Romans. You act as if calling it an article was some sort of insult. It wasn't. That's what it is. The fact the Israel is being discussed...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Redefining (or mis-defining) what "context" means that you can't keep from taking things out of their actual context. You keep making this claim but never provide any evidence that it's true. This is a gross over statement! If you were a Gentile and you knew of the existence of the God of the...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

I have no authority to "chop away". I wasn't threatening you, I was telling you that getting banned has nothing to do with me. Yes, I have. Twice. Liar. I did no such thing. No one has suggested your head on a chopping block, glorydaz! What in the world are you even talking about? You're the...

Silliness is his default because his whole worldview is silliness. He'll provide nothing else because he has nothing else.

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

It would seem, based on the premise used at that site, that any time Israel is mention IN THE THIRD PERSON, the passage is talking TOO Israel and teaching Jews how to live under their dispensation of law. It's like this guy can't figure out that Christianity and Judaism are related religions...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

This sort of talk is what lands people on the "chopping block". It's interesting to me how you think I'm the one being arrogant and condescending (or whatever) while all I'm doing is trying to get you to make an argument more substantive that quoting two verses of scripture and repeating your...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

When people transparently avoid answering direct questions that are so intuitively pertinent to the point of disagreement, they become my best argument. The idea that making a verbal confession of faith is any sort of legalism is simply rediculous and my questions make that plain to anyone who...

I did not read this. When you answer the question, we can continue. Not before.

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Saying it doesn't make it so, glorydaz. This will be the last of these posts I respond to until you make an actual argument. Reading you repeat yourself is a boring waste of time.

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

The question makes no sense, glorydaz! Romans 9 is specifically about God having cut off Israel and His having turned instead to the Gentiles but the whole entire book is a methodical presentation of the dispensation of Grace, the cutting off of Israel being only one important detail in the story.

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

Translation: I don't want to answer the question with a direct answer because the answer proves my whole thesis wrong and if I say it out loud it means I have to rethink everything I thought I knew about Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, who agreed to let the Twelve minister to Israel while he...

Beloved57 are you sure you’re chosen?

@glorydaz , Did you say thank you to your husband when he gave you a gift? Do you ever say, "I love you." out loud to your spouse? Have you then somehow done something to deserve the gifts you've been given and relationship you have with him? Are these words you've spoken somehow payments...
