Trump Impeachment Trial Following Capitol Hill

The strongest argument is around Trump's failure to do anything, knowing full well what was happening after the invasion IMO, although he certainly fuelled proceedings. Some new footage here for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Kudos to Officer Eugene Goodman in this.

Officer Goodman is a hero. I didn't know until today how close the insurrectionists were to Pence. There's another video of someone saying "Nancy... Nancy..." sounding like Jack Nicholson in The Shining. The impeachment managers have done an outstanding, compelling job of laying out the case for impeachment.

Same here. If he hadn't led them away from those doors there could have been a whole different outcome to that day. They did indeed and hopefully some more Republicans will get on board with it.

Yes there could've been, because I thought Pence had been taken to a secure location long before he was actually moved. The sad thing for this country are all the spineless, complicit GOP who will, in the face of all the evidence, vote to acquit. I expect it, but the impeachment had to happen, and they're doing a damn good job of it so far. Really excellent jobs by capable, competent, admirable people. Ted Lieu was also compelling today, if you can watch video of his speech it was so well done. He's a real patriot.

I'm cynical too, he probably will be acquitted but this is now all out there and after following proceedings today, they did one heck of a compelling job. Let's watch this space...

The Trump tweet - "Our leaders, not me of course, are pathetic" and the ensuing chuckles was priceless...good stuff.

Yep, that was some takedown...

What's so important is having the timeline laid down with such clarity; the words, the photos and video, the written and visual history that will stand as a bulwark against the revisionist history that's already being manufactured by the right as being something other than it was - a violent insurrection.

It's been exceptionally well presented, in great depth and detail that can't be debunked. It's all there and a credit to those involved.

Trump requested 10,000 National Guardsmen for DC which was denied to further the agenda and BS.
