I would be interested to know how you explain using II Corinthians 5:19 in a universalistic sense,
I'm not a universalist. There is no universal salvation spoken of in the scriptures, only biblical world reconciliation!
All of the world's sins were in the future when God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself not imputing their trespasses unto them!
2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
All of our sins were in the future when Christ was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Christ died for our sins!
1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1 Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
The man Christ Jesus gave Himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
The sin/sins issue was dealt with/settled by God through the faith and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. The complete WORK of our salvation was accomplished then. The debt was paid. God raised Christ from the dead to prove that it's a done deal!
It is up to each individual to be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20 KJV). Salvation is a gift (Ephesians 2:4-9 KJV). And like any gift, it must be received. One receives it by trusting the Lord believing the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation; how that Christ died for our sins and that He was buried and rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV, Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV). The gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to EVERY ONE THAT BELIEVETH (although no longer to the Jew first and also to the Greek...now to ALL MEN) for therein is the righteousness of God revealed.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
The righteousness of God is UNTO ALL, and UPON ALL THEM THAT BELIEVE.
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
