Why did the Lord have to appear to Paul Himself if this was all the same good news?

Consider that Paul was intended by God to be the twelfth and not Mathias but the Apostles, who were still "greenhorns" in the scheme of things, screwed up.

What might that say about man's responsibility and Paul who would later later say, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." and will of God. . . . 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

amen. God needed a leader, a servant. the message did not change, it was revealed. Paul wanted and wants no accolades. no glory. God chose Paul. that should be enough said

The kingdom of God is over all. the kingdom of heaven is mentioned only in the gospel of Matthew, for Matthew deals with the personal presence of God's anointed king on earth.

You could learn much if you wanted to

Although scripture clearly teaches dispensations, the age of grace began at Pentecost, not in the middle of Acts.

God's grace was shown clearly in Acts 2 with the giving of the gift of pneuma hagion and the winning of the about 3000 who continued in the apostle's doctrine

However, this is not the thread to discuss that.

The baptism WITH the Holy Spirit is not the same thing as the baptism BY the Holy Spirit. Acts 2 was all specifically and directly related to prophecy for the nation of Israel.

The baptism WITH the Holy Spirit gave them power to do many things that we do not do today. Like heal everyone or speak in any foreign language.

Not really when you look at who Saul was and that he had no hope under the kingdom program as a blasphemer against the Holy Ghost. He is our pattern, alright! He should have received God's wrath and instead received mercy when God reached down and saved him by His grace!

And I haven't even touched on (in this thread) the facts that he was given a dispensation of the gospel, a dispensation of God and the dispensation of the grace of God that would reach the likes of people like you and me!

Nope. The 12 were in tact with Matthias being chosen as the 12th and why act as if the apostles were all bumbling idiots?

A gospel that was before a mystery until revealed to and through Paul was not a gospel that was preached as the power of God to save before that.

Ridiculous. Pentecost was a Jewish Holy day. Those men were there because they had to be according to the law Exodus 23:14 KJV, Deuteronomy 16:16 KJV.

It was Paul who would preach that "Christ died for our sins" (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV). It was Paul's gospel! Peter never uttered anything of the sort in Acts 2. Peter didn't preach Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV either.
