My guess is that he inadvertently surrounded himself with apparently competent advisers who he did not know were fellow swamp dwellers with Ryan, backstabbers who lied to him and do not want him to succeed. It took him awhile to realize it and respond with a game plan of his own, and here we are. Hence his calling out Ryan the other day and he was right to do it.

It may come as a revelation to our resident conservatives, but under the Constitution the Legislative Branch is a co-equal with the Executive and Judiciary - the Speaker of the House is not just another advisor on Trump's "team!"

The 2018 Interims were a referendum on President Trump and House Republicans paid the price by loosing 40 seats - in retrospect, they would have been much better served if Ryan had distanced himself from this President, demonstrating that his first priority was to retain his GOP majority!

How ironic that after 2 years of serving as this President's "lap dog," "The Donald" and his supporters are not only ungrateful but in typical Trumpian fashion thrown their former Number 3 ranked Republican in succession "under the bus" and made him their political "scapegoat!"

Bannon and Gorka, I do not know.
Tillerson was not being as aggressive at State as Trump wanted.

Trump is a CEO. People come and go in Trump Org all the time. He is not a politician handing out jobs to political hacks and letting them keep them. I am not surprised in the slightest that people come and go under Trump. He wants results and does not give a frig about political favors. He'll hire a hundred people for one job until someone gets it right.

CIVICS LESSON 2: Speaker Pelosi is the only 1 of the 435, that happens to be 3rd in the line of succession after the President and the VP.

CIVICS LESSON 3: Trump and his shrinking minority would be well-advised to keep a civil tongue now that Democrats are in the majority in the House - like McConnell in the Senate, its Speaker Pelosi who determines as to what legislation will be tabled in the House including all money bills!

If the President attempts to go the "National Emergency" route to fund "THE WALL" and bypass the House, it will be challenged in the Courts as unconstitutional - how can the Justices side with the President when the heads of the NSA, CIS and FBI testify under oath that that the only crisis that exists at US/Mexico border is in Trump's mind!
