People of a society have a duty to preserve that which preserves civilization as they received it, else they work toward its collapse, usually under the guise of "progress. " That is not a novel idea, it's always been true.

C. Trump wanted to wait to demand funding until the Dems won back control of the House after the mid-term elections so he could use it as a wedge issue in Congress.

"The Donald" has never met a fence he didn't like and tried to replace it with a "WALL!"

The Mexicans must be having a "HOOT" watching this President shut down the government of the most powerful nation in the world, all over a "WALL" that they were supposed to pay for - you can't make these things up!

You mean Trump didn't have the guts or the clout to stand up to Paul Ryan to get funding for the wall, but he does now that the Dems have control of the House???
