I will say it's almost certain to be more than 6,000 to 10,000 years old.
Really? Where?

Have you considered that the fall may have happened very soon after creation?I think you are reading the narrative. So did Adam and Eve disobey God? Why did they not have Children before the fall?
yes, perhaps immediately, as in, before they got "settled in" ?Have you considered that the fall may have happened very soon after creation?

no. wal-mart. rustlers -do you subscribe to the "gap theory'?
genesis 4:16 Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
genesis 3:24 So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.
both instances were sent to the east of the garden of eden.
cain was driven from the presence of the Lord.
is that indicative of Garden of Eden?
Was the presence of the Lord different in the Garden.
Is the presence of the Lord in the Garden a physical pre-incarnate Christ. The Word God in physical form.
That most certainly was who Adam "walked and talked" with in the cool of the day; th e same pre-incarnate Christ, Moses could not be allowed, on penalty of death, to see His face. (Ex 33:22 kJ)
exactly
It is why I have a conjecture that it was in the garden
genesis 4:6 Cain went out from the face of the Lord, and dwelt as a fugitive on the earth,
face of the lord would have killed him. unless he was in the garden, a transition place.
Was it the face of God Jacob saw? "And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved." Genesis 32:30 (KJV)
I would be careful with inserting what isn't necessary for our 'understanding' because it only reveals a spiritual bent away from the simplicity designed and purposed to persuade to a relationship with God.. The presence of God was not ever limited to the garden of eden.
