I don't know, but I always thought the holiest continent was Antarctica, because it has the fewest people... at least presently.

I hear the nematodes can get kinda rowdy sometimes though.

Are we counting TOL as a country?

I'm pretty sure I swore fealty to someone in joining?

It's so good, members of other countries bring it gifts of obsequience.

I think living in Scandanavia looks pretty awesome. Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden all score extremely highly on the global happiness scales, have excellent state education and healthcare, a strong sense of community, and some beautiful scenery and culture to boot.

That said, I don't really think there is a 'best' country, as different people prefer different things, and furthermore if there's one thing that really gets on my nerves, it's patriotism. A country is only as good as the society it contains.

Believe it or not, I wasn't being entirely sarcastic when I wrote "the Vatican." The Vatican has the closest thing to a philosopher-king in the world presently. :idunno:

And how many people actually live in the Vatican? It's not a real county, it's a glorified neighborhood.

As a civil leader, the current pontif is right up there with the best of them. As a religious leader, however, he does not allow sufficient freedom to hold my interest which make me wonder how he would do as a civil leader among people who have sharp disagreement with him rather than as the head of a society he gets to pick and choose. When they have been the civil as well as religious leader of a country their track records have not been very good.
