I hope for courteous treatment! Government employees tend to be at best indifferent at worst surly and deliberately unhelpful.
In my area the Police Officers are friendly and courteous.
I won't return to a restaurant if I receive poor service.
There is a super market which is handy because it is on the way home from church but the employees are so uncivil I won't shop there.

Depends on the business.

Generally I'm shooting for price and location when it comes to things like groceries and basics (jeans, etc.) but I'll go well out of my way for a good restaurant, book store, or cigar shop.

Prices, customer service, quality, variety... and outside of an actual emergency, IF employees are on strike, I refuse to cross picket lines.

:think: A number of things. If I've never shopped there before I look at reputation, available goods, comparative prices and return policy, location. And I try to buy American first whenever possible.

If at all possible, I much prefer to shop at locally owned and operated businesses. I want the money I spend to stay in my community, and I want the people I do business with to live where I live, and to care about my community as I do.

I like to shop at places that consistently give good service and are honest in their practices. Since I'm in a rural environment, I shop the local folks as much as possible except where the local folks take advantage of their locality price wise. That just irritates me something fierce. I pick up Christian Blue Pages for when I'm in the city and try to support Christian businesses. I don't support businesses that support unGodly living. That can be tough sometimes like when Girl Scout cookies come up for sale. I regret looking a girl in the eye and telling her I can't buy because I'm a Christian and the GSA supports the gay/lesbian agenda. Besides the fact that I love GS cookies, it hurts when girls get all hurt and angry with me and call me a hater. Sometimes I just get tired and I'd like to go back to being an ignorant know-nothing, do-nothing, get along with everybody sort of Christian. :sigh:

I don't worry much about who I buy from, basically it's about price and then service quality. Social issues aren't in mind most of the time. If a business or organization is known for supporting porn or abortion or perversion and I remember, I'll avoid it.

Businesses are are run according to Godly principles are chosen over ones that do not. Sometimes I will go out of my way to patronize a business that takes a Godly stand.

That's not my intent.
Yes, I do listen to myself because, quite often, being a Christian is one of the loneliest things in the world and we have to suck it up when faced with gentlemen such as yourself. You're just part of the territory. I really wish that weren't so but that's your choice; I can't make it for you and I guess that makes me an even bigger bigot, at least in your eyes.
