The "rock" Jesus built His Church on is the truth that He is the Christ.
Mat 16:16-18
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The "rock" is the truth that God revealed to Peter, that Jesus is "the Christ, the Son of the living God." The Church is built on that foundation (1 Cor 3:11; Eph 2:20), not the person of Peter or a succession of Peters.

Like his predecessor John Paul II and Catholic bigwigs in general,
Pope Benedict is a well-meaning but terribly misguided fellow.
He doesn't want any one to use contraceptives but also demands that no woman have an abortion. He's opposed to divorce.
He's even against condoms. He expects that no one should have sex before or outside marriage, even adults who have never been married.
And he's against pornography and even tasteful erotica, things which have been in existence for thousands of years.
He's against homosexuality despite the fact that many priests , bishops and cardinals are or have been homosexulas,even popes.
He might even be one himself. But that's his business.
Like Catholics and Christians in general, he has pathetically unrealistic goals and expectations about marriage, the family and human sexuality.

The old "Weekend at the Vatican" pope before this one that they had to prop up was more fun.
He doesn't mean anything to me. Just a guy who played church politics well or something. I dont know how the process works. I do remember people watching a chimney for smoke, or certain colored smoke? It meant something about picking a new pope. My grandma would be very dissapointed with me right now. :think:

I think I'll take a second crack at this...
To me, the Pope is a man who needs to accept Jesus Christ as savior.
No, sometimes I impersonate real women too. I take it that boyfriend of yours never too you to a real drag show.
