I'll say it again: to dwell, consistently, and repeatedly, on behavior that one claims to find disgusting, or sinful, speaks to an unhealthy and repressed mind. Many Christians here (OEJ's original post that prompted my comment is a case in point) seem to enjoy wallowing in downright pornographic scenarios that they excuse as "worst case" or "calls for alarm," which seems disingenuous to me. I see this all the time, on TOL and elsewhere: moral alarmists who seem awfully eager to describe, in prurient detail, behavior and activities they claim to despise. I guess it's not smut if you claim to be doing this "for the children" or in the name of "morality."

Actually, I don't believe I missed any of your points and I addressed each one of your posts as you made them. The problem, Granite, is not that you won't see our POV but rather that you can not see it because you can't see your baseline...God. Because of that, you are really not in a position to assess our actions or motives. You're not thinking on the same plane as we are. Not to say that you're below us or that we are above you. We're just coming from different places.

I didn't have arrogance in mind at all so I really couldn't confuse it with anything. Me thinks you protest too much. If you weren't attracted by what is here, you wouldn't be here.

Because we all know nearly all of them do it willingly all over the world....and no one would lie that its willing to keep their pimp or slavemaster from hurting them...
That doesn't address what I said.
If a woman willingly joins the profession and can leave at any point explain how she is being "exploited."
I imagine, like many professions, one may not leave without some scars.
If a child willingly enters into a sexual relationship with an adult and can leave at any point, explain how they are molested?
A child is not capable of that kind of consent. We know that.
It is too heinous to contemplate this type of abuse.
Our job as individuals and as a society is to protect the innocent, the vulnerable and the handicapped.
I think that was his point - a great many and i would even venture most prostitutes arent doing it willingly, even when some of them say they are.
I realize that this is a sticking point for many in this type of discussion.

What "kind" is it that the government has claimed responsibility for over parental control?
The government has power of decision over what is taught to our children in the public schools and what is legally accepted behavior in society.
We, as parents and concerned citizens can only marshall our own behavior in the family and in society to reflect our standards and beliefs.
Regarding "that kind" of consent, I mean a child is under his/her parents governance. They decide what is proper behavior for the child. A child must be protected from the depredations of adult predators. That protection comes from family, school, concerned citizens and the law of the land. All of which can become a "catch 22" if the parents are the abusers and if the law of the land doesn't protect children. Then, like Sodom and Gomorrah, we will be destroyed.
