Did you forget that I am among those professing the dispensation of grace?
One would hope...1 Corinthians 3:10-15 KJV
And yet it appears to me you are deceived; for God does rebuke and chasten those who are His, even in this dispensationBut when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
-1 Corinthians 11:32
Not at all deceived, thanks. I study to shew myself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
Your last reference is about the Lord's supper. This was Paul referring back to the same night in which Jesus Christ was betrayed (verse 23)
1 Corinthians 11:23 KJV For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
Here Paul is rebuking the Corinthians in the present (then).
1 Corinthians 11:17 KJV Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
1 Corinthians 11:18 KJV For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
1 Corinthians 11:19 KJV For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
1 Corinthians 11:20 KJV When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
1 Corinthians 11:21 KJV For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
1 Corinthians 11:22 KJV What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
1 Corinthians 11:23 KJV For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
1 Corinthians 11:24 KJV And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1 Corinthians 11:25 KJV After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1 Corinthians 11:26 KJV For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
1 Corinthians 11:27 KJV Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
There is only one man who was there that ate the bread and drank the cup unworthily and was guilty of the body and blood of the Lord~Judas. Be honest with yourself and the scriptures, Lighthouse. There is no way that could be anyone in the Body of Christ.
Paul continues looking back to that night...
1 Corinthians 11:28 KJV But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
1 Corinthians 11:29 KJV For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
1 Corinthians 11:30 KJV For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
1 Corinthians 11:31 KJV For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1 Corinthians 11:32 KJV But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
No one in the body of Christ can be condemned with the world. Ridiculous. Think about it. Yet this is what you are saying if you believe that verse 32 is to be applied TO you.
Paul returns to addressing the Corinthians in the here and now (then) in verse 33 on.
1 Corinthians 11:33 KJV Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
1 Corinthians 11:34 KJV And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
