I think the owner of the topic should have the power to ban someone from posting only on that topic. That way we can all pool in together and help run the board.
I think you guys get it just about right. The TheologyOnline.com TOPIC OF THE DAY for April 30th, 2012 09:12 AM
toldailytopic: Do you think TOL bans members too frequently, or not frequently enough?

It is Knight's forum as he has the right to run it how he likes. The can leave if they don't like it.

I've been banned off other sites for being an Open Theist! That was the whole reason!
I've been temporarily suspended off of another site for the slightest of infractions against the foggiest of rules that weren't enforced in any sort of consistent fashion.
As far as I'm concerned TOL is flat out the best theology forum in existence precisely because you let people bang their heads together. We aren't talking about Asian tea recipes, or which quilting technique is best for making purses. The topics here are deeply personal and immensely important. People are going to get offended and people are going to get their feeling hurt and people are going to get angry. Getting banned for such things on this kind of forum will only get you a forum where everyone agrees with everyone else on practically every issue except the ones that are trivial and boring.
I say that unless they're being just blatantly disruptive for the sake of disruption or they are being flagrantly insulting to Jesus Christ, let people display their foolishness for all to see. And that goes for me too!

P.S. Thanks Knight for creating and maintaining a great website. The handful of times I've ventured onto other sites looking for fresh minds to pick, I've always quickly regretted it and its never long before I'm right back here where I belong. God bless you and those who help you run this place!
You, of course.who should be banned that has not been banned?
:allsmile:I get banned very often. and in the mean time many vicious and bully ones hardly ever get banned.
It was replaced with the bible. :thumb:This is supposed to be Christian forum and viciousness and bully behavior should not be tolerated more than anything else. What ever happen to Jesus is love?
:shocked:However it seems that right wing, gun waving maddist nut jobs get given a lot of slack.
As it should be. As it should be.Those on the left, or who are atheists or secularists have to tread much more carefully.
:mock: Atheists. No way. Too subjective. Besides, libs are known for derailing their own threads when the heat is on.
Or practice really hard to abide by the rules yet be as dishonest and divisive as Barbarian is. But, be warned. You have a lot to live up to emulating the most dishonest poster on TOL.Yep. If you want a level playing field, join a college debate team.

Have I been vicious and a bully? :idunno:Then why dont you practice what the Bible says? Jesus says to love one another. being vicious and bully is not the way, friend.
Have I been vicious and a bully? :idunno:
There seems to have been an uptick in bans as of late... I can't figure out if people have been pushing their luck more, or whether our new mod is banhappy. Or it could be a combo, I suppose.
I have obligation to pay what I have to say for the Lord.
Savvy is such an underutilized word. :cheers:If you actually said something for the Lord than you would not have been banned...Savvy! :AoO:
