You know, I gather most liberal/progressive (even some conservative) believers in Jesus would agree with this discourse in spirit and principle. However, it appears some would reject it outright because its in the UB. (go figure) - that's the quandary here, since a liberal more eclectic person, or one who does not hold an exclusivist view or dogmatic belief in any one religious book or denomination, would look at the content of what is being shared, and use their own conscience, reason, logic and spiritual intelligence in understanding/valuing it. Remember, on principle alone, which is what Jesus wholly teaches as the religion of the spirit, in contrast to the religion of the mind only (focused on tradition, rote, creed, rituals/programs).
This and the other discourses on 'religion' in Part 4 by Jesus are some of the most important significant teachings which are the core of the 5th epochal revelation to the planet, so why these enhanced and expanded teachings of the kingdom of heaven are rejected by any Jesus-follower is rather peculiar :idunno:
See: the Religion of Jesus
It would be tantamount to learn what the actual 'religion of Jesus' was/is...and practice that, if one is to identify as a disciple of Jesus.
Its because they are religious, authoritarian rather than spiritually liberated in the original gospel that Jesus preached before the cross and Peter and Paul's new gospel.
