If I had known beforehand that Bowie was in such bad shape, I probably
would have prayed for him? All sins are forgivable because of what Christ
did on the cross. God's Grace is a free gift to those who hear the Gospel
and place their faith in Christ as their Savior.

Ok What is your hope....

That Bowie found God at the end or didn't find God?

For me anyone who understands the gospel and God of gospel hopes that all men come to repentance, and mnourn over those that don't.

Gloating over those that don't give me the feeling you have no understanding of Grace.

When he wrote this album Bowie was dying and searching, searching people go to a lot of places, and wrestle with numerous ideas, Some of which will not be orthodox.

I'm hoping I get to chat to David Jones in heaven, i'm not banking on it, i'm more hoping for it, but to gloat over nah ... thats not nice.

Even though Zoo and his ilk don't like Bible thumpers (as he calls them) we
who are True Believers must try to reach the lost with our Testimony of God's
Grace towards mankind.
It may be that, despite your "True" convictions, you are nevertheless barking up the wrong tree and that after a lifetime of barking you are just an old dog who can't learn new tricks. :plain:

Can I mix my metaphors or what?

You're merely rationalizing at this point.

And what's wrong with that? All you seem intent on doing is deflecting away from a rational explanation for your views and condemning Bowie to your own ideology on 'hell' as if you personally knew the man. That's more sickening than any video he made frankly...

Your opinion isn't worth debating you over it. I'm coming from
a Christian perspective and you and your ilk are angry. So what?
Live with it.

Well, it's my opinion and here in America I have the right to
express it as I please. If you don't like it, too bad. Live with
it.

I disagree with you. Live with it or don't. Either way, there's nothing
you can do about it, is there?

Debate?

You think debate is saying something and then when you're asked to explain why, saying "I don't owe any explanations!"?

That's not debate. Don't delude yourself.

I would hope a "Christian perspective" would be more informed than your baseless nonsense. It would be interesting to have an actual discussion about the religious references and meanings in the video, rather than you pounding out 70 posts about satan without actually saying anything, while aCW runs around in the background with his pants on fire yelling something or other about homosexuals.

Most of you who are defending the last creations of David Bowie are not
looking at those blasphemous works with a Christian perspective. You
don't care what he had to say about God or Christianity. I understand
that, If you're either an agnostic/atheist or a liberal so called Christian.

Bowie was mocking God and Christianity both, in his efforts. He had a
history of being into Satanism and he was very interested in Alistair
Crowley a famous Satanist from many years ago. They called Crowley;
the most wicked man, around that time. So, I can understand if you guys
are into the occult, Satanism, or some other evil belief system, why you
would want to defend Bowie and his works. Or, if you're just an anti-
Christian type of person who cannot see the evil in the last death works
of Bowie.

First of all, thanks for the angry neg-reps and name calling. You do
realize that, those neg-reps don't really change the rep score anymore?
But, feel free to vent your childish anger. There is no
real debate, you're right about that. It's just a matter of where
ones perspective is coming from. Mine comes from a Christian
perspective and the rest of you are coming from a non-Christian
standpoint. So, why debate? You're not gonna change my critique
and I'm not gonna change yours. This thread is my critique of the
last works of David Bowie. You must agree, I have the right to my
opinion? You could create an opposing view thread of your own?

The facts are;

1) Bowie was into Satanism/occult.
2) Bowie refers to himself as, God.
3) Bowie creates a pornographic Crucifixion.
4) Bowie presents himself as some high priest of Satan holding
what strangely looks like a Satanic book with some kind of
pentagram on the front of the book.

I do admit I didn't desire to watch the entirety of his blasphemous
images. I sped it ahead, not wanting to fill my mind with those
wicked images.

By the way, my Son, who is forty is a fan of Bowie and purchased
these death songs. If he brings it up to me, he'll hear my
critique, as well. I'm in no way a prude. I have an eclectic array
of music favorites. In the 80s I hung out at the clubs and loved
most of the music. I like Rock and Roll, country music, New age
music, pop music, etc. However, I don't enjoy Rap.

So. I like all kinds of music. I draw the line at Black Sabbath,
Led Zeppelin, and the other Satan driven music of its
time. I believe Marilyn Manson was Satanically driven as well.

I've got mountains of forty fives and albums. I grew up in the
50s and 60s. I'm best friends with a guy whose Son and his
band travel the world, have performed on Television, have
several CDs to their list and were asked by Paul McCartney
to perform in New York with him. They also opened for
Morrissey many years ago. So, I have nothing against
music. I do however, have something against blaspheming
Christianity and God our Creator. Be it through music, art,
books/magazines, T.V. and movies.

He says a lot of things.
Yep, with religious imagery.

He's not saying "I am the great I AM" in terms of him being God.
That's exactly what he said, as he raises his arms in a "behold me" gesture.

Just because he uses pieces from religion in a song or video doesn't mean that's what it's about.
Then why even use so much religious imagery??????

"I AM' is satire on religion.
The single candle and the eyes is satire on religion.
Having 3 people on crosses with the one in the middle being higher than the others is satire on religion.
Forming a circle to bow before a jeweled skull relic is satire on religion.
Holding up a book as though it were a sacred holy book is satire on religion.
Body shaking trances is satire on religion.

The whole video is cluttered with religious satire.
I believe he knew very well they were religious imagery and purposely used them for his dark vision of "art".

I'd bet that The Life of Brian would have its TOL critics if it were released today?
