Yet two of His apostles talked about the role of civil government.

As I recall from reading in Holy Scripture, Jesus's apostles learned everything from Him.

Yup they talked about submitting to the civil government for our own good. Yet you chose not to submit and want it changed.

We as Christians have bigger fish to fry and would do well to keep away from getting stained by politics.

Quit your incessant lying. God described the role of civil government throughout Holy Scripture and it wasn't any different with the two apostles that quoted it in the New Testament.

How do you know this?

And what relevance to the OP does your statement have?

If Donald Trump is a 'baby Christian" he's taking really small baby steps when it comes to embracing God's Word.

I don't believe I've ever heard a "baby Christian" say that he felt no need to ask for God's forgiveness (as Donald Trump said a few months ago) or invite a God-hating LGBTQ activist (Peter Thiel) to address the RNC and the world.

Maybe patrick jane has a different definition of 'baby Christian' than most?

No one here is lying, except for you.

History teaches us that before the Romanization of Christianity, Christians were barred from being politicians or serving in the military. Both policies are consistent with scripture.

Again, quit lying.

Holy Scripture in both the New and Old Testament talks about the type of people who should be leaders, and God certainly didn't expect secular humanists to be those leaders.

Be pleased though HS, you got what you wish in both Presidential candidates: God haters.

Its calling our obligation to veterans 'sacred' is blasphemy.

Verse from Scripture backing that please.

Its position on the wars is unchristian.

Yet God says that there is a "time for war" in Holy Scripture.

It pretty much puts the constitution on par with the bible.

While the Constitution of the United States has a heavy biblical influence, please quote where in the Republican Party Platform it says that the Constitution is "on par with the bible".

Its statement on its support for Israel is ungodly.

LOL...(HS thinks that God is a big fan of Islam).

Its approach to marriage is ungodly.

You mean one man and one woman? Didn't God set those guidelines for marriage in Genesis?

And I could go on.

Please don't, you're embarrassing yourself.

Call something man has made 'sacred' is an affront to God. God alone determines what is sacred.

Yet God says that there is a "time for war" in Holy Scripture.

We are not Israel.. nor did God ever personally instruct us to go to war.

While the Constitution of the United States has a heavy biblical influence, please quote where in the Republican Party Platform it says that the Constitution is "on par with the bible".

Actually, the constitution has more masonic influence than biblical influence. Masons are non-religious. Their tenets are equality and harmony and a belief in a supreme being.. not necessarily the God of the Bible. (33% of the signers are confirmed free masons).

It's talk of exceptionalism and being that greatest country on the planet says that plainly.

LOL...(HS thinks that God is a big fan of Islam).

This has nothing to do with Israel and everything to do with the dispy's and futurists twisting of scripture and solely supporting Isreal in an effort to make their twisted interpretation come true AT THE EXPENSE OF THE PALESTINIANS. We have their blood on our hands by proxy.

You mean one man and one woman? Didn't God set those guidelines for marriage in Genesis?

God left the definition and administration of marriage to the civil law of Israel... it was always one man and MANY women. Pretty much every male of note on the Old Testament had multiple wives... and they did so in the New Testament. The only restriction on multiple wives was that Elders were supposed to only have one so that family was not a distraction from working in the church.

Please don't, you're embarrassing yourself.

You are the one embarassing yourself.

No, your blending of religion with the government has caused you (and most republicans) to embarrass themselves.

One note of contention HisServant...

Marriage was setup by God Himself in the Garden of Eden, when he created Eve for Adam and blessed their union. An example for all mankind. Like many other examples found in Genesis.

As for the multiple wives thing, God ALLOWED (keyword) multiple wives, but that was not His original intent.

When Jesus came along, he spoke of 1 man w/1 woman. Nothing else.

We recognize that the Republicans have corrupted things, but let's not go off the deep end here.

I think you're fairly spot on with the rest.

Republicans have been using God politically since Reagan to great advantage...up to now.

Where was this sentiment then? What happened?
Perhaps they've finally realized that stirring up the religious zealot fringe vote against their political opponents was not the great idea that they originally thought it was. Since it's now coming back to bite them in the rear.

The mention of God.

It was nary to be found.

Usually it's all about God, Guns & Gays.

This time it was just Guns & Gays (this time they so-called "accepted" them though)

The GOP’s Godless Convention

Meanwhile, the Democratic National Convention was filled with the mention of God, even had preachers, choirs and singing.

How does that sit with the TOLers? Is this the direction that Republicans want to see their party take?

your source on the matter is widely contradictory "Various other Christian speakers paid passing tributes to their own faiths" God was mentioned and according to this article I found quite often it seems

One would think that if His Servant couldn't get something as basic as God's stance on marriage right, how could he be "spot on" when it comes to the rest?

Regarding "the rest":

Our brave fighting men and women are rightfully given accolades by the Republican Party Platform, because freedom is sacred.

Regarding Israel: The Judeo-Christian ties of Israel and the United States are inseparable. Both Israel and the United States are enemies of Islam because of those Judeo-Christian beliefs.

The Bible and the United States Constitution:

The Bible and Government, Biblical Principles: Basis for America's Laws
http://www.faithfacts.org/christ-and-the-culture/the-bible-and-government

Since I've gone over many of these things with the pathological lying HS before, feel free to refute them and how the Republican Party Platform is somehow "anti-God".
