We could all find better use for our time and money.
But sometimes you need just spoil yourself.

Since most people hardly read anymore the movies are one of the primary ways we can connect with the grand epics and myths of history. And, regrettably, we certainly don't seem to value much in the way of wise story-telling.

Seeing a movie is like smuggling a book through customs. It gets into the mind and then the subconscious can take off the silly wrapper and see it for what it is.

Many of the grand epics of the Bible are repeated and recapitulated in our film culture.

"Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams..."

That is right. You are wasting your life and your money, jerk.

Wow, so much ignorance, arrogance and stupidity all in the space of pretty much a sentence. Way to go you...

I suppose you think the same of playwrights, poets and fiction authors yes? After all, if it ain't real then why waste time reading or being at a play, or a concert etc?

If you reduced this to sensationalism in TV & movies then I'd be inclined to agree to a certain extent but you aren't. Have you never been touched by a film? A book? A TV programme? Do you consider it a waste of time to be moved or entertained by any sort of media?

If so it's your loss.

Hey dialm, Do you visit the park, feed the pigeons, watch the Jugglers,
people watch, see what kind of images you come up with while observing
the clouds? Your life must be filled with wonderful and amazing things to
do.

Obviously, the thread starter has never watched the greatest TV series, in the history of the world, "TJ Hooker," a series in which the rugs/hair styles won by the "actors"(loosely employed her), won every year, for "Best Supporting Piece in a Recurring Role:"
