1 Corinthians 9:27 KJV
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection : lest that by any means , when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
This is what you meant when you said of Paul:
"He learned to get under his body. " ?
You don't need to learn Greek in order to work with the Greek...
But the text does not support your interpretation.
Do you use Strongs?
"Keep under" does not mean, nor does it presuppose, "to get under" in that passage...
It means "to keep under/bring into
subjection"...
It means to make one's body
OBEY one's mind...
Most of us obey our bodies...
Spiritual life can seem like a fantasy
to those who give heed to seducing spirits
and doctrines of devils.
I am beginning to think that the old Maddists here
were just Calvinists on steroids
with a new non-Calvinist mid-Acts doctrine...
1Cor 11:31
For if we should judge ourselves,
we should not be judged.
It is not helpful to accuse others of being demonized,
because as Paul says,
those who accuse others are themselves doing what they accuse.
It is what the Pharisees did...
Judgmental Hypocrisy...
Rom 14:13
Let us therefore not judge one another any more:
but judge rather this:
That no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion
to fall in his brother's way.
You and I are called to join instead with the Publican...
And to NOT thank God for making us UNLIKE those dirty-dog sinners OVER THERE...
But instead, together with the Publican,
who could not even lift his eyes from the dirt of his own soul,
to condemn ourselves and beseech God in agony of soul,
that He have MERCY on us...
Rom 14:17
For the Kingdom of God is...
Righteousness, and
Peace, and
Joy
In the Holy Spirit.
And it is here and now at hand...
For those who are repenting...
And who get baptized...
Into Christ...
