And despite that the Cowboys have won two more Division titles than have the Steelers during the Super Bowl era!
You need to get your facts straight Jerry.
First off, in 1969 the Steelers were in the same division as the NY Giants, while the Cowboys were in the same division as the New Orleans Saints.
Same thing for 1967
In 1966, their were only two divisions, and the Cowboys and Steelers were in the same division, along with six other teams, and they didn't play any of the AFL teams.
So, when you say "Super Bowl era", it doesn't make much sense. Which is why "the merger" is the best starting point. Since the merger, no team has dominated like the Steelers have.
Also, since the last realignment in 2002, no division has as many playoff appearances and wins as the AFC North.
Maybe if your Cowboys would have won more than two playoff games the last 20 years, the NFC East would rank higher than it does.
Not to mention the Cowboys haven't come close to even appearing in a Super Bowl since 1996.
