The games not over yet, but AJ McCarron is impressing me.
Especially given what he's facing and how little time he's had the reigns.

On Palmer...he's had three games with a QB rating in the 80s, which is meh, but not bad...one 98, which is darn good and the rest...literally the rest are over 100. That's remarkable. His rating for the year is 106.8

He has 4,500 yds, a 64% completion percentage, 34 tds against 10 ints.

Tom Brady clocks in at 103.1 on the year.

Osweiler vs. McCarron could be the future Brady vs. Manning???

Both of these young QB's look really good.

 I'm less sold on Osweiler. AJ outperformed him on the college level and in a tougher environment. But who knows? They both could end up great or on the heap of former impressive college qbs who fizzled under the spotlights.

I'm curious about where AJ will end up if he continues to acquit himself well.

Like I said, when he wins a big game, get back to me.

In fact, when he wins his first postseason game ever, get back to me.

Tom Brady clocks in at 103.1 on the year.

Brady has won 21 postseason games, Palmer has won ZERO

Palmer is only two years younger than Brady

Carson has been in two playoff games. You think he wouldn't have won in New England? You think Brady or anyone would have overcome the mess they had in Cin?

I know you like to do the popular thing and hang wins or losses on the qb, but it's still nuts. You look to see if he did his part, and it's a more important part than probably any other position in any sport, but it's still dependent. So if you take the greatest clutch kicker in NFL history out of the Brady mix who knows what you get or what you don't. Likely not a dynasty. He's great, but it took the right mix and a great coach to win tight contests and establish a legacy.

Two playoff games. Carson got one pass off against the Steelers before being injured. End of game. So, basically one game. One game against a defense in the Jets that gave everyone fits (Revis, Mangold, Harris).

That's a tough way for AJ McCarron to lose a game.

Patriots, Bengals, Broncos, and Chiefs are in.

Houston and NY Jets control their destiny. They win this week, they're in.

Steelers are in if they win and NY Jets lose.

Indy is in if they win, Houston loses, and 9 other games go their way (seriously)

I haven't really watched the Arizona Cardinals. How good is their defense?
4th in yards allowed rushing.
7th in yards allowed passing.
5th in points allowed, but by a fraction from first.
2nd best at producing turnovers, marginally behind Carolina.

So, pretty darn good.

So it sounds like the Cardinals have a championship caliber defense.

I saw the Steelers lose to the Ravens, but I can't believe it. All they needed to do was win the last two games. Not the they need to win this week, and the Jets must lose. So this week I'm say "Go Buffalo!"

Average in the NFL is good enough if your offense has taken advantage of the rules and has a competent QB. StL beating the Seahawks twice this season with 2 different QBs? Don't try and tell me the league is not mediocre or loaded with parity.

If I didn't know better I'd say New England threw that game.
Just one of those things. I went against your boys on points, but I thought they'd win by around a td.

I had Atlanta right.
Missed on the Jets.
Took Detroit.
Called Cin to win but closer.
Got Pit and Was right.
The half point got me with Indy.
Won betting the points against NE.
Lost with the Giants.
Won with Houston.

7-3 so far.

Late spate?

Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Seahawks, Bucs and Vikings.

So, I think that means Denver can control whether it's home for the playoffs. Wow. Who saw that coming?

I don't know. They were flat, listless, didn't even attempt to throw the ball. There was simply zero effort, not a lack of it. Very, very strange. I've seen weird ones in Miami before, and I picked the Dolphins because there's no way even at full strength the Pats were covering nine and half down there, but this was just...fishy. If you'll excuse the pun.

The Colts were 24-6 their final two years with Manning and 2-14 the year he was hurt. My point is that is how bad the team is. And other teams are the opposite. Trent Dilfer had a run of 10-1 including a Super Bowl Championship and he was let go following the win.

Point being, it is the most important position, but it is a team sport.
